Let’s give a warm RAGOM welcome to Mojo!

This handsome gentleman was surrendered to RAGOM because his family was overwhelmed with newborn baby activities. Not one to dwell on that sad turn, he kicks up his heels at the mention of a walk or going outside. Mojo is a housetrained, indoor dog who has run of his foster home during the day and throughout the night.

Mr. Mo is a neutered male; is UTD and has been on HW and FT this season. He has been with the same vet all his years and we have the paperwork! As with most of our golden Goldens, he has a few bumps, but they have all been checked out and are just fatty deposits. No worries! He's prone to hotspots, so Mojo's SO kept his coat trimmed short to prevent any more from developing, an easy solution that works well for him. The shorter coat makes him look taller and very distinguished.

Mojo has no aggression or anxiety issues. He's been great with kids, other dogs and even turned his crate over to the resident cats! He is a respecter of baby gates, but he can get a bit sneaky in the kitchen.  If you are thinking about throwing something tasty and smelly in the trash, be advised, Mojo will be there!  He's been known to nab a steak bone or two from the garbage and run off with it. No resource guarding when he has it, but he's a quick lil' bugger! Don't let his gray face fool you!

Mojo is going to turn the Big 1-0 in 2009, and he would love to celebrate with his furever family!

FM here.  Caught Mojo last night in some unguarded moments.  Sometimes he's camera shy, but here you can see how much he loves his babies!  He actually pulled them all together in the pile so he could be touching them all and still chew on his rawhide.  Pretty soon the pile was gone but all babies were within reach : )

Mo and the cats have made their peace too.  They have always tolerated each other, but now they're sniffing each other, furs touch when sleeping, and I'm sure when it gets colder they will be "spooning".

Every evening we go to the hockey rink/bark park and Mojo loves it.  All the dogs just run around each other or from blue line to blue line.  Mo doesn't 'roar' around like the younger pups but he does just fine with them and really looks forward to the social time.

If you have other dogs or cats, I know Mojo will slide easily into your family and home!

Mojo here. Just got back from a nice run at our dog park. I love meeting those young pups! You should see the eyes of their Moms & Pops when they find out I’m nine, sometimes their jaws drop, sometimes a double-take. Yep, I’m that good. Oh, pardon me, I have to answer the door - some pesky campaign people out there. I like to bark when someone new comes here, but I grab a stuffed baby and greet them wagging my tail.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you why I’m named Mojo. Doesn’t have anything to do with that silly movie; Mojo means ‘personality’ and ‘charisma’ and the name fits me perfectly. Also, I don’t like to tell strangers this, but since we’re friends you may as well know: I sing. My favorite songs are Daniel by EJ, and Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac. I’m a little shy, so you can’t look at me or I stop, but I will really get into it if you give me a chance. Okay, I’m off to watch the moon rise.

Oh, one more thing, I hope you will come by on Saturday and meet me. I love to meet people and maybe you will be that special person for me!!

This gorgeous morning I was tempted to sit on the couch, drink my coffee and watch Saturday morning news shows...Mojo had other ideas and soon we were outside for our morning walk.  By 11:00, we had the walk in, had met doggie friends, and were doing Fall Garden Chores.  As I worked, Mojo watched (see photos, what a good looking boy).  Without Mo, I would still be on the couch sipping coffee, 'wasting' a chance to get out and enjoy our beautiful October.

Mojo's life is complete when we are out walking and I feel such satisfaction when he lays down to dream afterwards.  If Mojo sounds like a perfect fit for you, please contact placementatragom [dot] org (Placement).

Mojo here.

Just got back from the dog park - Momma Foster is tuckered out and gave me the keys, so here we go:

What you need to know about me:

  • I will love to walk you…if you have been saying you need more exercise – I am your man.
  • I love to sleep in…no getting up at the crack of dawn to take me out, no sirree, I like my beauty sleep and we sleep late on Saturdays!
  • I can be trusted with everything!  The smarty pants ("smartest dog in world") border collie puppy who used to live here chewed up two remotes, THREE cell phones, a real stethoscope, computer cords - not me!!  I grab my toys and I am happy!  None of that puppy stuff for me!
  • I love meeting new dogs – yep, I get along with the new ones, the short ones, the shy ones...I am Mr. Personality, the Dog Park is my cup of tea!
  • I get along great with the cats - they were a little uppity when we first met, but my charm has won them over.
  • I lived with the babies, and love children; I even let my little girl poke me in the eye and did not even flinch.
  • Everyone knows that NINE is the new SIX!!

I’m one of the lucky RAGOM goldens, my SO loved me so much; she gave me the best food, made me see my Doctor regularly, exercised me when she could - with all that care, I’m like a puppy!!

<Ok, ok Mojo, give me those keys, I’ll take it from here>

We met with the vet yesterday and Mojo is very healthy: heart, skin, fur, eyes, breathing, bones...The doctor was impressed.  And yes, we walked today for an hour and I started to jog because it was time to be home so Mojo picked up the pace which was faster than I needed.

If you are looking for loving company, a walking partner, a "warm fuzzy" at night, and don't want to rearrange your home to protect your valuables, Mojo is your guy!!  And from the comments I've received about him, I have to agree with him, "nine really is the new six!".
