It was pampering weekend for Maggie, and she was brushed, had her nails clipped and teeth brushed this weekend. She loves any time she can spend with you – even if it involves grooming! I clipped her nails too short, so 09-101 Jack was giving her a bit of TLC!

Maggie continues to do well with her exercise and has already lost a few pounds. We will keep working on it!

Maggie has been with us for a week and has been a busy girl! Maggie had her hair and nails done, has been working out each day and playing with 09-101 Jack and resident Mia. Because she needs to lose weight, her diet is restricted and she is HUNGRY!

The funny Maggie story for the week is her fascination with the new sod. I would like the sod to remain horizontal and Mags prefers to have it vertical! After numerous times of relaying the same piece of sod, I look out the window and Maggie and Jack each have one end of a roll and are pulling in opposite directions. Wish I had the camera, but I was running too fast to save the sod!

Maggie returned to RAGOM this weekend, and while we haven’t seen her since January, it was as if she never left. She has already settled in nicely with resident Mia and foster 09-101 Jack. Maggie was returned because she kind of invades young children’s personal space – she always wants to be where the action is getting lots of TLC!

She has gained a bit of weight and we will be working on regaining her girly figure….I know she will be thrilled to be on a diet again!! Maggie will always need to be slim and trim to avoid additional stress on her hips. We are thrilled to have this special girl in our home again. She is wonderful with the kids and dogs and such an affectionate, sweet girl. Maggie enjoyed the beautiful weather playing in the yard tonight.

Maggie Mae here~

It snowed all day outside and I could hardly wait to play! I love the snow and could play all day….I’m a Minnesota girl and don’t mind the cold especially when it snows! I have fun playing with 08-586 Reggie and resident Mia, or just hanging by myself. In fact, when it is time to come in, I am a bit stubborn and stay outside for a few more minutes. FM calls me a little stinker when I do that but I know she is crazy about me so she doesn’t really mind. J

Let me tell you about me and what I am looking for in a forever family. I am a smart, social and affectionate dog and love to be with people. I’m a great listener and get along great with kids, and all dogs I have met. In fact – I LOVE kids and dogs. I do not bark much, but do make lots of silly sounds especially when I am playing with toys or other dogs. I have never had an accident in the house and walk great on a leash. I am in a crate during the day when my foster mom is at work (I know – no fun but one of the rules of the house for all dogs), which I don’t mind too much as I usually sleep when she is gone. I am super affectionate and easy to love! I would love a family with kids and either with or without dogs. My family will need to be active because I need to keep my girly figure and get lots of exercise. Oh, and they will need to love being loved by me!

My FM tells me every day I have the most beautiful velvet soft fur and sweet brown eyes! Oh, by the way, I overheard her tell one of the little people here that she would love to keep me forever if they didn’t already have so many dogs. You should come meet me quickly before she changes her mind!

Here are a few photos of me being silly licking the door, playing tug with Reg and taking a snoozer with Reg:

Maggie has been working hard on her girly figure and has reached her ideal weight…yea! No more green beans for this exercise machine. The boys (08-586 Reggie and 08-609 Sunny) are on the girls nerves, so Maggie and Mia have ditched the boys for the night and are having fun playing in the snow and playing tug. Check out my new pink collar to match my girly figure~

Maggie is still working on her girly figure with less tasty kibble and more healthy veggies. Her doggie treats have been replaced with baby carrots but she doesn’t mind as she loves to eat anything! She continues to get lots of exercise with daily walks and playing in the yard. Maggie loves being outside and doesn’t seem to notice the temperature has dropped. We had a new batch of dog toys on Monday – you know the rugged, indestructible chew toys? Oh, and a few of the less resilient stuffed toys too. Well between Mia, Maggie and 08-453 Hunter, they lasted almost 24 hours. These dogs love to play and love toys!

Hunter and Maggie are crazy about each other. See below photo with Hunter snuggling up to Maggie and snoozing. They usually sleep head to head or bum to bum!

Maggie is ready for her forever family and anxious to meet you! She is a young, sweet girl and so easy to please. She would do well in a home with or without kids or dogs, just needs someone to love! Maggie will always have arthritic hips, but as long as she stays lean and gets exercise to keep her muscles toned, it will not impact her quality of life or restrict her activity in any way. Her daily glucosamine supplements prevent any further deterioration. Why don’t you come and meet sweet Mags so you can see for yourself…..just contact us through placementatragom [dot] org.

Maggie saw the orthopedic surgeon this week and still needs to lose more weight. She also asked that we adjust her Rymidal to see if she needs it every day. Ideally the Ortho doc would like to avoid surgery and until Maggie is lean, she can’t make a recommendation. Her hips do not in any way limit her activity or prevent her from doing everything her furmates do! Maggie LOVED the snow this week! She headed outside first thing in the morning as usual, saw the snow, stopped, turned and looked at me as if to say “how cool is this?!” and jumped up to bite at the snowflakes. She also spends a lot of time with 08-453 Hunter and has started picking up some of his vocabulary. Mags squeaks and whimpers when she wants something or when she sees you first thing in the morning. Very affectionate girl!

Here are a few photos of Maggie and 08-453 Hunter playing and Maggie and Mia waiting patiently for popcorn:

Maggie went to the vet today for the big weigh in and has lost six pounds and is pretty close to her ideal weight. She will always need to be slim and trim so that she does not add additional stress to her hips. She still goes for long walks every day and does pretty well with her exercises. The one bad habit she had was that she was kind of grabby with her toys, loves to pick up anything in the house that is on the floor and then would not drop it. She still picks up things occasionally, but is no longer grabby and drops right away if I tell her too. Such a good girl!

She loves playing with Mia and 08-453 Hunter as well as the kids, and is very easy to foster. She is kind of a Velcro dog but in an endearing way – not at all annoying. We hope to get her in for her orthopedic consult soon, but have an exercise routine, and are eating really good food so she is ready anytime for her forever home. If you are looking for a playful puppy without any bad puppy habits, Mags may be the one for you! Contact placementatragom [dot] org if you are interested in meeting this sweet girl!

Maggie has been doing great with her exercise. We walk about 1.5 miles each day and she is a great walker (now that she uses a Gentle Leader :) ). She loves to carry stuff in her mouth…sox, kid toys, balls, anything she can get her mouth on! The good news is we have been working on teaching her to drop and she is doing really well. She loves playing with the kids and dogs and is very affectionate. You would never know anything was going on with her hips other than the manner in which she sits and that she is a bit stiff in the morning and after laying around but shakes it off quickly. Maggie is due to visit the orthopedic surgeon to see how she is doing now that we have been exercising for the past month. I’ll let you know what we find out.

Here is a picture of Maggie carrying her leash and with Mia and 08-453 Hunter waiting for her treats. Mia was in a cranky mood and showed everyone how she feels about sharing her treats….little stinker!

Maggie continues to do very well. She gets lots of exercise every day between walks, exercises, playing tug and retrieving balls with her fur buddies. I’m surprised we still have Maggie as she is such a wonderful dog! She is potty trained, fantastic with all dogs and kids, and has the playful puppy spirit without any of the less appealing puppy traits. Maggie is so affectionate and well behaved. The only habit we are working on is when she plays with her toys she is crazy! She gets too excited and is grabby. Other than that she is a great catch! Contact placementatragom [dot] org so you can meet sweet Maggie (aka Mags, Maggie Mae and Maggie girl)! Here are a few pictures of Maggie hanging out with Mia and 08-453 Hunter.

One of the little kids, unbeknownst to any of the adults, let Mia and me out to play in the rain today. Oh…my…gosh we had SOOOO much fun! That is until foster mom found out. She was not pleased when she saw us or the yard, and then we had to take a bath. After the bath we were looking so sweet and pretty that she forgot all about it and I got this new hot pink tennis ball.

Mia and I have become great buddies and play together all the time. I think it would be fun to have another dog when I find my forever family. I’ve been walking a lot, doing my exercises and playing in the yard. I’m kind of crazy on a leash and need to learn not to pull so much. FM puts this thing on my called a Gentle Leader (I definitely have a different name for it), and then I walk like a perfect lady. I guess it is worth it if I get to go for lots of walks. Nothing else going on with me….you should come check me out – I am a sweetie! All you have to do is contact placementatragom [dot] org

I had my orthopedic consult today and the doc was unable to determine the issue with my hips. I need to lose a few pounds and build muscle mass. So, the good news is that I get to go on lots of walks and the bad news is I go on diet doggy food too…YUCK. I also need to do controlled exercises each day to build my muscles and increase flexibility. So that means I have to do squats….again I say YUCK. FM says she hates doing squats too, but they are great for your butt and legs! I take glucosamine supplements for joint health and to prevent deterioration. If I do a good job with my exercise I can quit taking my pain medication, and go back for another consult in a month.

Everyone I meet loves me, I love kids, adults, dogs – you name it. I love to retrieve balls, but will not let go….after all I ran to get the ball, I get to keep it! And I am the master at playing tug. I’m a playful, well behaved puppy and enjoy every minute of the day! If you are interested in meeting me, please contact placementatragom [dot] org !
