I believe the worst of her situation is over. Ali quit having diarrhea about 2.5 weeks ago and we still have no defined reason why she was so sick, but it is gone. Ali has even started to gain weight, she now weighes in at 52.6 lbs.. Her hip bones do not protrude out any more, I cannot feel her spine, her ribs you can still find them, but you have to be feeling to find them. Ali has had free roam of the house during the day and at night, with some accidents due to her not wanting to go outside because of her timid fear factor.
Things are looking up for Alina, she is very slowly coming out of her timid shell with us. As she is feeling better she now plays "All Star Wrestling" with her resident dog, Missy. And they have even starting playing a three way wrestling match with 08-497 Zuzu (AKA Princess). It's a real treat when this gets going in the middle of the living room and 08-293 Sunshine (Honey) sits at my side and just watches them. Crazy dogs!!
Ali is still afraid of outside noises or if the neighbor dogs bark, she runs for the door and will not come back to play or potty, and then we have accidents in the house. If there is alot of noise in the kitchen with dishes and pans, she runs and hides. She needs to have a resident dog who will help her thru some of her timidness. She has one very bad habit of jumping up with her front feet at your chest, when you come back from being gone. I'm trying to break her of this bad habit, she gets so excited when someone comes home from school or work and she wants your attention.
Ali has even slept in bed for a night or two. The first night in bed she slept on my king size pillow all night long and enjoyed it. She was just a little snuggle puppy all night. Ali will not climb into bed herself, but gets a butt lift in. She has also learned to get up onto the couch. I was making dinner and Missy (resident dog) got on the couch to look out front window, so Ali decided to look out too. She just hopped up and put her front legs on the back of the couch and looked out the window, the way dogs do. She was so cute and proud of herself.
