Lou is a 3 and a half year Goldendoodle who has been with us for nearly a week now. During this time, he has made a lot of progress. He was scared, defensive and shy at first. He now plays, wags his tail nearly constantly and comes looking for me in the house. He is a tall boy who weighs 67 pounds. He knows some basics like sit and down. He walks beautifully with the Gentle Leader. He becomes very excited when the leash comes off the hook, as he loves to walk. He has energy, so the walking is great for him. He is house and kennel trained, having free reign of the house during the night. He gets along fabulously with the resident Golden as well as the neighbors’ Goldendoodle. He is great with the two teenagers in our house. The two kids both had friends here today. He was a bit standoffish at first and backed up at first, but given about a minute, he warmed up to the kids and became their buddy. After the initial adjustment, having three extra teenagers in the house did not bother him at all.
We truly enjoy having him here in the house. He is a great house guest. He will be a wonderful addition to some family; the family will need to give him some time to adjust and trust him.
