Murphy's wondering why his FM has been such a slacker about updating his blog? Guess my best excuse is that, as a first time foster, it's been way more fun watching his progress adjusting to the RAGOM life than writing about it! Although Murph was a loved family dog he's pretty skittish about many things and the fear in his eyes was obvious to everyone he's met. I was even starting to think his ears were deformed they were so scrunched back against his head! I'm taking his new look of relaxed ears as a sign he's likin' his new life :) He now runs up & down stairs, and jumps into the car, things he did so hesitantly before that I thought he had hip or back pain (good news for his future furever family ~ x-rays showed no problems!). The more he's out and about, the less he's startled by new sights & sounds. Murphy & Mini (resident Golden) even went to Woof Dah for a full day of play with fellow canines -- and humans with nothing to do but spoil them! For a dog with a sheltered background like Murph, daycare is a great way to experience lots of the fun side of a dog's life!
Murphy really is a sweet dog, rarely barks, gets along with cats as well as other dogs, doesn't counter surf, stays off furniture unless invited, all that good stuff! Have to admit he does need to work on not peeing inside. He & Mini were alone for 5 hours on Saturday and did great! But then he peed in the house yesterday while I was standing right there :o Wish I knew if I just missed his "signal" ~ or if there was some other reason ~ as it wasn't even a separation anxiety thing since I was home all day. While that's not exactly an endearing trait, it could be worse. If you don't believe it... you should read John Grogan's book "Marley & Me" :-]
