Red arrived last night after a short transport from her first foster. Thank you KM!
Today we took Red to the vet and had an Xray done to make sure that if the tumors are cancerous that it had no spread. The Xray does not show any concern at all. Thursday Red will go into to be spayed and have the tumors removed. I will update on her condition when I hear from the vet after her surgery.
A few more things on Red. Red has been here for one day and I can tell you she is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. She is very laid back an slept in a kennel in my room last night with no problem. She is having a little trouble eating hard dog food, but will eat soft food. This could be from not having eaten hard dog food before, or from simply eating table scraps. We are working on mixing her food to get her to enjoy hard dog food. She walks WONDERFULLY on a leash. She does not pull, and if she gets to the end of a long leash she will sit down and wait patiently for you to catch up. She was not housebroken when she came into foster care but she has not had a single accident since she got here. She is for sure a smart girl who loves attention and will make one lucky family very happy. She may be 8 years old and classified as senior but she has the spirit of a young dog and always will! If you are looking for a young at heart dog with a great disposition who is happy snuggling and taking a long walk then this is the girl for you!
