Meet Daisy Mae!

Daisy is a golden mix – likely a Golden Doodle with a splash of Terrier, but no one knows for sure.  She just turned two, is a svelte 60lb healthy girl whom is spayed and current on all shots.  She is housetrained and goes potty in the same spot every time…..great for your yard! Because Daisy has those great golden genes, she also sheds, although not as much as a purebred.

Now for all the sweet and funny stuff.  Daisy is such an affectionate girl.  She follows me everywhere – in a very endearing way, not annoying at all.  She loves to sleep in our bed and snuggles into me when we sleep. We have two small children (3 & 6), and they are crazy about Daisy and she loves them too!  Very gentle with them and calm.  I think she really enjoys being with people….maybe even more so than with other dogs.  We have a 2 year old male and 1 year old female dog.  Daisy gets along with our 2 year old male the best….she plays kind of rough and he likes that. She sleeps with our female but they don’t play too much.  Daisy Mae is a crazy woman with toys…loves playing tug and is a toy de-stuffer!!   Watch out when she plays tug because she wins every time!  We have a fenced in yard and she loves to run – she is fast and almost glides.  She is also great on a gentle leader but pulls on a leash.  Daisy would make a great running partner and loves the exercise.

Like every independent woman, sweet Daisy has a few opportunities for improvements.  She has been boarded, so may simply need a refresher on her manners.  We are working with Daisy Mae and she is very responsive.  Daisy is a counter surfer, but is very responsive with a firm ‘down’.  She needs work on treats as she should take them more gently.  This is easy to fix with a bit of practice.  She would do best in a home without cats because while she is crazy about the cats….they are not crazy about Daisy!

I tell you this is one smart woman.  Our dogs are crated during the day….I know…no fun but part of our routine when we are at work. I have to do serious bribing with treats to get her into a crate.  Would you want to be in a crate?!  Daisy knows sit, down and can shake with both hands.  She has been really easy to foster and such a sweet girl – I love coming home to her each day.  If you are interested in learning more about sweet Daisy Mae, please contact placementatragom [dot] org.

Hi Everyone – Daisy Mae here.   I sure have enjoyed this last snowfall.    I got to play outside in it on Monday and again today.     When I come inside, my foster Mom says she wishes my foster bother and sister had hair like me.   See, my hair is short on my legs, so hardly any snow or dirt sticks to me.   My foster Mom tells me it is really easy to clean me off.   Plus I stand real nice while she is toweling me off.   Who wouldn’t – you get lots of pets!!

I have been here with my new foster family for a week now.   I have a foster-fur-bother and foster-fur-sister.   I love to play with Max my bother.  My sister Sydney lets me follow her around.  She doesn’t play much.   But mostly I like to be with my Foster Mom.   I  pretty much follow her whereever she goes.   At least, just to keep track of her.   Then sometimes I go play once I know where she is.

We have had lots of visitors since I have been here.   My foster Mom tells me they are all coming over to see me because I am soooo cute!   I have met young people and older people – boys and girls.   I love them all.   Who wouldn’t – again I get lots of pets!   They all tell me “what a pretty girl I am”.   I like to try to give hugs when they come.   My foster Mom says I can’t do that cause I might knock them down.   So I am learning that I have to keep my feet on the ground.

My foster Mom says I have the most beautiful brown eyes and gold eyelashes she has ever seen.   Well – I am a golden doodle don’t ya know.   I really like to cuddle with her.  We take naps on the weekend after playing hard in the back yard.   She says a gobble my food way too fast – can I even taste it??   Since I have not had an accident, my foster Mom says that it must be ok.

I will do anything for treats.   I have been learning to “kennel-up”.   I did not like to go in my kennel before, but now I go right in.   My foster Mom says I am really smart because I learn really fast.

Even though I love it here, my foster Mom says that there is family that is just waiting to adopt me.   I hope they like to cuddle, and go for walks and take naps.

Well that’s all for now.

We were lucky enough to temp foster Daisy Mae this week, and today she moved to her permanent foster.  The week went way too fast and I already miss her sweet face and constant tail wagging.  Daisy had great fun the past two days playing in the yard with all the fresh snow.  She was so playful this weekend retrieving toys that she was acting like a silly puppy!  She would pick up a toy, carry it to me, and bow down with her tail and butt wagging like crazy.  I would reach for her toy, Daisy would backup and her tail was going in circles it was wagging so fast.  She was teasing me with her rope toy!  Finally she would drop the toy, I would toss it and it would start all over again.  It was so much fun getting to know her and watch her playful puppy side come to life.

After a day of running like crazy with the dogs in the snow, she was zonked at bedtime.  Her favorite place to sleep is cuddled up to me as close as possible!  She would be happy sleeping with our kids too, but I think they would play with her all night instead of sleeping.  Daisy is a very affectionate little girl and LOVES attention from people.  She also played with our two year old male, who is also crazy about the snow, and he has been walking around the house tonight looking for his playmate….our resident female doesn’t seem to be as much fun as Daisy!

If you are interested in a playful, sweet, affectionate, two year old healthy girl, I hope you will check out sweet Daisy Mae!  She has very few bad habits (of which she made significant improvements in just one week) and so much to offer!

Here is a photo of Daisy playing in the snow with our residents, and leaning in for hugs and kisses!
