Jo Jo got sprung from an Iowa shelter yesterday by fostermom and now resides in Cedar Rapids, IA. He is a good sized darker reddish gold dog about a year and a half old. He is very active and little did he know, he was about to enter Obedience Training 101 aka Doggie Boot Camp with foster dad!! Jo Jo is walking on the Gentle Leader surprisingly well. He loves to retrieve a kong in the back yard and wants to be active. He is residing in the crate in the house for the time being and did well sleeping there his first night. Jo Jo was a stray whose owners never came and picked him up. He will go to the vet tomorrow for a once-over and then back again to be neutered. We will keep you posted with further updates!!

JoJo is now officially adopted and now resides in Marion, Iowa with the R family. His new mom and dad and 3 human kids will keep him entertained! Congratulations to a great dog and a great family!! We will sure miss him and are glad he lives nearby so we can see him in the future.
Hey, the snow is melting and it's 4-way highway all the way to Iowa... you can go up and back all the way to MN in one day... that's what we did with Maren and it was one of our best decisions ever!!!

JoJo has had a good weekend. He is great in the house now and gets along with all the people and other animals. He is only in the crate to sleep at night and he would probably be OK out then too. He will retrieve until the cows come home and would probably be a great hunter. He likes to be where the people are and is fond of lying in the middle of the kitchen while FM is cooking!! Hi golden lovers!! It's me, JoJo, with some new pictures. I am doing really well. I get to be loose in the house now and am getting along great with the resident dogs and cats. I am working on "down" and "stay" and doing great with "sit". I love treats and will do anything to get them. Today, I got a loaf of bread and foster dad didn't like that too much. Geez, what's a hungry dog going to do? I sleep well at night in my crate and love going for walks everyday. I love to retrieve and play. Here are my latest pictures. JoJo aka GoGo, because he is a busy boy, went to the vet today and weighs 67#. He is a gorgeous, medium sized male golden. He has made huge progress in the past few days and is now out of the kennel in the house with supervision and getting along with resident dogs, RAGOM golden Maren and shih tzu Yosi. He absolutely LOVES to retrieve in the back yard and is learning to chew on appropriate items, like flavored Nylabones, which he is most fond of!! He is doing his jobs outside and is very willing to be in the kennel when need be.
JoJo has been microchipped and treated for a mild yeast infection in his ear. He is up to date on shots and FL/HW and will be neutered on Wednesday. He is looking for an active family who will walk or run with him daily and continue his training. He would definitely benefit from obedience training, and from what we can see, is a fast learner. He seems very bright, which is also what the shelter said about him. He is somewhere between one and two and probably closer to one. He appears to get along with kids and adults, other dogs and cats.
