Darby (Jimmy 08-121)

Profile

I am so happy to introduce Jimmy to everyone. He is a year and a half old and I can tell that he was very loved by his surrendering owners. They had to give him up due to lack of time and graciously wanted him to have a new family who could spend more time with him. He won't be here very long because he is a true gem.

I want to thank Karrie and her little girl for braving the snow and bad traffic transporting him to his new foster family:)

Let me tell you a little bit about this boy. He is beautiful! A medium golden color with a very handsome face. He is in tip top shape, nice and lean. He has pearly white teeth (thanks to his previous owners) and uses tooth protecting gel to keep them that way. His surrendering owners sent all his 'stuff' with him. His kennel, toys, meds, more toys, food, treats etc. He was spoiled and wants to find a family who will continue that tradition:)

He has been through multiple obedience classes (puppy 1 and 2, level 1 and level 2!) This boy has it all!!!!!!! Beauty and brains:) He is potty trained (he did have a first night accident when he was sorting things out, which is common) Crate trained but doesn't really 'love' to go in. He was trained to use invisible fencing and I believe came with the collar.

There are a couple of things he should work on though. He likes to hunt for food around the kitchen table and this AM made an egg sandwich killing:) He pulls like a freight train but with a Gentle Leader this would be controlled. I will try one on him and see how it goes. Also when he and my 18 month old puppy girl play, they play really hard and a couple times it escalated a bit too much and he got a little too rough. Now I just make sure to watch for the sign it's getting too much. Otherwise they lay around together and have a lot of fun. He seems to be way too interested in my daughter's Guinea Pigs:) Like a true retriever he likes to have socks in his mouth or any toy and just like my young dog he likes to chew and tear apart his toys.

I will write more in a couple days as I continue to learn more about this wonderful boy and get him a once over at the vet. If you are interested in Jimmy, I wouldn't wait too long because he is going to go FAST. Please email placementatragom [dot] org if you would like to meet him:)

Mission accomplished:) Jimmy AKA Darby is on his way to his new forever family. He is now a part of Erik, Julia and Keldan H's family. He is going to get to play in the lake and chase his new little human brother around. I know that they are going to take wonderful care of him and make sure he has the best possible life.

Thanks to the surrendering family who knew that this was best for Jimmy. They love him a lot and only want what's best for him. My heart goes out to you:)

My family will miss Jimmy very much -- he is a wonderful dog:) I'm so happy he found a great family.

Hi this is Jimmy and I wanted to write an update to my fans because I think my foster mom would like to keep me and thinks that if she doesn't update my profile then no one else will fall in love with me. Well, I think she needs to realize this is a temporary stop for me. I need to get out there and find my forever family.

I went to the vet for a check up and to get a microchip. They said all is well. I'm real special so I had a surgeon look at my knee to make sure it was in tip top shape and yeah I don't need any work done on it. I didn't even know it was a problem but I guess foster mom found some old vet paperwork that made her concerned and wanted it checked out. Here at RAGOM they want to make absolutely sure that we are good to go before we get adopted.

I have been playing with my foster sister until we both just want to drop down on the floor and sleep. Actually I have been sleeping with my 8 year old foster human sister on a blow up mattress. I don't know why she sleeps there seeing how she has a nice bed in her own room? She must have seperation anxiety!:) I don't. I get left to my own devices while the family is gone. My old owners had me in a crate so I can do either--I am very smart:)

I met a great family last weekend and I think.. ok, I know that they loved me. The mom was a big push over for my big beautiful brown eyes:) I am a charmer:) They have a cool little boy that I want to be best friends with too. And the dad, he would be such a good dad for me. I bet he would love to play fetch in the backyard:) I will let you know for sure on Sunday if I am a part of their forever family! Until then, Jimmy
