Miss Penny is back in RAGOM's care looking for her forever home.  It seems that Penny and her furr brother were not a perfect match, although her human parents were very sad to see her go.  She practically needed a moving truck as she came with toys, treats, blankets, homemade food and a plethora of stuff!  I thought for a minute I was going to have to put an addition onto the house!  Okay, so I am exaggerating, but they did send a lot of stuff!

Penny is an absolute sweetheart.  She seemed so sad when she got here, not surprising but it is always heart wrenching to know that they are confused.  Well, it was only a matter of time when she was tearing around the yard and house with resident and RAGOM adopted dog, Stella Grace.  I really thought that my Stella would be too rough for her, but that is not the case.  Penny actually ignores my 9 yo GR, Penny Rose.  She gets along with her, just would rather play with Stelly.  We went for a long walk tonight and she just loved it!  Now she is resting on her blanket while we watch the Super Bowl.

Penny is a pretty quiet girl and I have only heard her whine when she wanted to go out for potty.

Penny is now taking applications for her final destination to her forever home.  She would be fine as an only dog or with a dog, but we need to be sure that a furr sister or bro is a good match.  I have a fence and that would be the ultimate set-up, but not necessary.

Well we have had Penny in our home for 2 weeks.  She has settled wonderfully and absolutely no crabbiness on her part with the other furr kids.  She is such a sweet and easy foster.  I forget that she is here sometimes she is so quiet.  When Penny has to go out, she does a little whine and then she sits on her bumm and does a silly dance while her bumm is on the floor!  It's very funny!

We have transitioned Penny to a food free of grains.  This should help with her itchies.  We have also switched her over to "human" Benadryl as advised by the vet.

Penny loves her walks and her play time on the yard.  She doesn't really play with toys, but she chases the dogs around when they play ball.

Penny continues to settle into our little, simple routine.  Morning potty, breakfast time, the moving of her favorite dog bed back into the living room, Foster Mom leaves for work and furr kids rest until Foster Brother gets up, potty break again, treats, running around with Foster Sister Stella, then Mom gets home, dinner, walk, play time and finally drag Penny's favorite dog bed back into the bedroom.

Last night we walked around the lake and then stopped by my sisters for a grooming session.  We had to shave her bumm because she was matted, but were able to save her fluffy tail from the dreaded clipper.  Little trimming on her toes, ears, legs...she is as good as new.  Later today we will hit the bathtub and she will be all shiny and smelling like a flower!

Miss Penny and I had a little talk and she told me she really wants to be an only furr child.  Although she plays with my Stella, if she feels trapped by another dog, she will react out of fear and pin them down.   She is fine on our walks approaching other dogs, she is good on a meet and greet at friends houses, but if she feels as though she is trapped, she gets scared.  We are careful here to not let her feel trapped and my dogs are pretty "Foster Dog Savvy" and they have come to understand her fears.

Penny's ideal home would be a quiet one, only furr child, a walk or two a day and resting by your side while you watch TV, work in the yard or do your shores.  When I go downstairs to the computer, she always finds me, it is very sweet.
