QBert (Cupid 08-095)

Profile

Cupid was born on September 25, 2007 so that makes him about 5 months old. He is a pure bred Golden and sadly has spent his first 5 months locked in a kennel. He is so happy to be free but isn't quite sure of this new found freedom. After a warm soapy bath, he snuggled up in a towel (see picture) and was simply the most precious little guy. He really loves to snuggle right now.

Please check back as "Cu" becomes braver, I'm sure I will have some wonderful puppy stories and pictures.

I took Q to the vet last week--he weighed in at 32 pounds. He is a healthy growing boy but was treated for round worms and an ear infection. He is doing well now and he his ear is staying clean. He is playing more and more with our resident dogs, he has learned to sit, lay down and I think he might even know how to shake (must be from watching the other dogs). We do not have a fenced yard so he has been going out on a tie out. He does well with it but I would love for him to have a yard that he could run and play in. We had a neighbor boy visit and Q just loved the attention. I think he would be great with kids.

I have taken him on a few walks and he is learning to walk with a leash. He doesn't pull, it's just a little awkward for him. We are still working on the potty training and I am sure it will be better now that we got rid of the round worms. Other than that, he is just a great puppy and is sure to make a wonderful pet. He will be meeting a family this weekend so cross your paws--he deserves to finally go "home".

"Q" is doing very well. He lost 5 teeth and now that he has some new teeth coming in, he loves to chew on bones. He doesn't chew on anything else, which is a plus. We are still working on the potty training, he is getting better. Couple of GReat things about Q: he comes when he is called, he sleeps through the night and he doesn't chew on everything in sight and he just loves to snuggle.

He has started to play with our 2 resident Goldens. It was so cute to watch him run around outside this weekend. He also got a present this weekend, his very own tennis ball. He loves to chase it but has to be very quick in order to beat the other 2 that love tennis balls, too. I caught him hoarding 2 tennis balls under him last night (I wish I could have gotten a picture). Q is very loveable, smart and just the cutest little guy--is your family looking for a great puppy to add to your family--he could be sleeping on your couch this weekend!

Cupid has had quite the last 2 days. He has mastered going up and down the stairs, he has met his first cat, took his first treat and chewed on his own bone. Cu is eating well and learning that the other dogs will not share their food with him. Potty training is going well. I think it helps that it is below zero so he is out and back in very quickly. He just needs to be let out often.

He is still very snuggly and most comfortable on the couch, just watching the other dogs interact. He did chew on a bone a little bit last night, I don't think he's ever had a bone or any toys, the poor guy. He is also sleeping through the night, 11pm to 6am which I think is AWESOME. Please let placement know (placementatragom [dot] org) if you would like to meet this little guy, he really is adorable!
