Please welcome Mr Tobi back into the Ragom family. His adoptive Mom fell on hard times and had no choice but to give him up and return him to Ragom. So sad but Ragom is a GReat place to be. He is a very regal looking gentleman with all the manners to go with the title.

He will be going to the vet tomorrow and we will keep you posted.

Please stay tuned.

It is with a heavy heart that I pass along to you Mr Tobi has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. He had been struggling the past couple weeks with eating. No matter what we tried to give him it just was not appealing. However then his legs gave out 3 times on his walk Saturday morning. They had been getting weaker and weaker. Tobi LIVED for his walks and if that could not be a part of his everyday life, then it was no life.

His final years were good years. Thank you Ragom! He was surrounded by his foster Mom and Dad who loved him and even his former adoptive Mom came to say her final goodbye. Thank you Deb for bringing Tobi McDonalds breakfast. He certainly did not turn his nose up at that. I promised him that he could be just a dog for Halloween and that he is. No crazy foster Mom following him around with a camera and numerous dress up gigs. He’s running free with many Ragom Alumni.

Rest in Peace Tobi. We love you!

Well, Well Tobi here. I bet you have wondered what I have been up to. Never has FM gone 2 months without an update LET ALONE no new pictures. It was kind of a break for me. (shhhhh- just between you and me!) FM had some surgery 8 weeks ago. Frozen shoulder and the rotator cuff of the right arm. Of course she is right handed. So rehab has been slow and she has been unable to do much. In fact I thought most times the computer was off. However it was just the monitor. So I certainly have had time to fill you in but did not know how to get it up and running. I just felt fortunate that both her legs were working. You know I value my walks. So fortunately with the exception of a few days we did not skip a beat in that category. Whew…. Good news.

I had a grooming session last weekend. Thanks to Auntie Deb who was nice enough (Really? Who likes getting their nails cut?) to come over and take care of that. It’s always so nice when she comes to visit. Maybe sometime she will leave the clippers at home.

Am I done yet?

Everyone noticed how handsome I am. Even Miss Jazzy….. She is still the love of my life. No one compares to her. Sweet as ever.

FM told me Goldzilla is just a week away. I will not be attending however. She thinks the walking would be too much for my back legs. I’m sad but she promised to make it up to me. Clohe however gets to go. So be looking for her in the pink stroller. Rumor has it she might have pink pearls on. I looked at the calendar and I see Halloween is right around the corner. That was my first experience dressing up with FM. I wonder what’s in the cards for me this year. Something I’m sure. Here are my after pictures taken right after grooming. As you can see I am quite used to the things she pulls out of her bag. The sooner you smile the sooner you get a treat!

Thanks to my many sponsors who have had a hand in helping me feel good. You will always be extra special to me.

Handsome and ready for Hawaii

I hope you will all take some time out of your busy schedules and make an appearance at Goldzilla. This is our main fundraiser of the year and there are many pups just like me who could use your support. What could be better than a park full of fur? I can’t think of anything. I hope FM remembers to bring me something home!

Enjoy!

Hey everyone.. the holiday is over and things have gone back to normal. What a busy weekend I had. I visited a family who have 2 golden girlies. A car ride. YAY! One is a Ragom girl named Roxie and the other is a 13 year old “looker” named Sage. Both are beautiful girls. They have two young children and combined with Roxie and Sage it was a busy visit. Have I ever told you I bark in 3's? Woof..Woof…Woof! I did that numerous times when I was there. So much going on and so much excitement. It was fun. The humans thought it was hysterical! I thought “WHAT?” Much more fun than hanging out with Clohe. And boy did I sleep when I got home! WHEW!

I was going to go to the 4th of July parade but I would have had to walk quite a distance and FM thought it might be too much. Too bad Clohe's stroller is too small. I could have used that!

Not too much else going on. The warmer weather sometimes limits our walks but for the most part I always get to go. Hope you have marked your calendars for the Ragom picnic. We have a great walk and this is our only fundraiser so please if you could take the time to raise some money for us. It takes a lot to take care of us I guess. At least that is what FM tells me. Each and every one of us appreciate your efforts. A big thank you to my sponsors. I have you to thank for me feeling so good!

Hope there are no more holidays in the near future. You know how FM loves to dress me up. Paws crossed nothing in the near future..

Still looking for my forever home. I am so easy and will fit right into your household. Want someone to watch movies with? PICK ME! Let your placement advisor know. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Aren’t we quite the pair? I LOVE Miss Jazzie…

Hi, Tobi checking in. Not a whole lot new in Tobi land but that’s just the way I like it. I get my regular walks and meals and my routine is not upset in the least. WOW!! Those hot days though left a crimp in my style. Too hot to walk in the evening so I only got one walk in both of those mornings. I told FM she owes me. Clohe and I might have to make an owesie sheet and put it on the refrigerator. Don’t want FM to forget like she does some other things… Hee. Hee… I think she calls them senior moments.

I presume you noticed it was dress up time again… I am getting more and more cooperative. I know she is going to do it anyway so I might as well speed it up. God Bless America!

I believe we are going to have a neighborhood BBQ soon. YAY! Lots of people to pay attention to me and hopefully a scrap or two that will hit the ground. Of course I am checking the mailbox to see if Miss Jazzy is returning her RSVP. Nothing yet. I will be so bummed!

We had storms last night and this morning. Doesn’t bother me a bit. Unless it rains and I don’t get my walk. That is a whole different story.

I’m still waiting for that very special person to contact placement and want to meet me. FM will tell you how special she thinks I am….

Hugs to ALL my sponsors. I got a new bottle of meds this week and FM told me I have you to thank for that. It's important to feel good and it does just that so I can enjoy the simple things in life.

Till later
Tobi

I told you what she was up to. That darn dollar store. She told me I looked cute and enticed me with my favorite salmon treats. Really a BEE? Since when does a regal looking gentleman wear a bee on their head? We were going to take a walk with it on my head but I bent my head and refused to move. She called me a butthead and I called her a crazy lady! We do love each other though....

Life here is about the same. I have really settled in (foster mom says maybe too much!) here and I know the routine and am quite happy. Foster Mom takes me for a walk everyday when she comes home. She said she is going to teach me to meet her at the door with my leash. I maybe could do that. I certainly am smart enough. I guess it all depends on if I am awake when she walks through the door.

Now that the weather is nicer we meet a lot of different dogs on our walks. My favorite is Miss Jazzy but I do not always get the chance to see her. I have met many a friend in the last couple weeks. Both human and canine. Some I like more than others. But I am always polite.

Enjoying the holiday and hoping you are doing the same. I especially like a little extra time with my foster Mom.

Still waiting to hear from someone who thinks I would do well in their home. I take a couple pills a day but other than that you could not ask for a better companion. Let your placement advisor know you would like to meet me. I don't go to events because those slippery floors are not for me. But we could meet elsewhere. Dairy Queen perhaps? I know for a fact they give out pup cups!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG….. Or has it? Yesterday it seemed to be here and today maybe. Rainy but kind of cold. I guess I am ok with the cooler weather. I prefer to be cool rather than warm. Speaking of spring, I had a lot of spring things done lately. A trip to see Dr. Larry brought me a spring tune up. Everything checked out good. The staff thinks I am so regal looking and comment on how polite I am. Life is too short not to like everyone and see the good in them. That’s my philosophy. So on to our next spring adventure. I was given a bath and a groom by Miss Jennifer. She was so patient with me. My back legs get weak if I stand too long but she was ok with letting me take breaks and even trimming me while I was lying down. And is she cute……….. Another girl who thinks I am a doll! The list just gets longer. I feel so good with a lot of that hair off. My chest was beginning to look like a lions mane. But now it is thinned out and I have to say I do look good. If your furry friends need a sprucing up, check her out. FM says her prices are great and she even gives a reduced rate for rescue dogs. Give her a call.

FM is not too fond of the rain today. It makes for muddy paws. Hope she doesn’t try to bring the boots out. It has been known to happen. Hope the Easter bunny was good to you. He came by our house and ate out of the bird feeder. Never stopped in. Must have gotten too full!

Many thanks again to all my sponsors. Without you I would not be smiling and feeling good about myself. A big hug to all of you.

Love
Mr Tobi

Hey Tobi again….

We seniors sometimes have those senior moments and when I did my last update I had one! Just briefly because now I remember what I wanted to add. A hug to Deidra and a wink wink because you too are still very special to me. Thanks for sponsoring me and making my life so comfortable.

Love to all of you

Where does the time go? I guess I am a little late in my update. If I waited for FM to do it, hmmmm…. Well let’s say we would wait a long time. I guess her schedule is a little more rigid than mine so maybe that could be expected.

Another restful day…

I do want to say that I am not too thrilled about all this snow. We had SO MUCH SNOW that we could not get out of the driveway to the road for our normal everyday walk X2! What a bummer. Today we walked past Miss Jazzie’s house but we could not find my girlie. Last time I saw her she had on her cute little pink coat and boots. Talk about CUTE??? That she was! Wish she was out more. I know exactly where she lives and will look for her as we approach her house.

I am still taking meds for my arthritis and also for my joints. It seems to help with my back leg weakness as well. Rumor has it I will soon be starting my exercises to help me with that as well. I guess I have time for that in my schedule.

A BIG hug again to Jenny, Mattie, Abbey and Deidra for sponsoring me and helping defer some of those costs. I know that Ragom, like all charities are feeling a little pinched right now. Given what we had to pay for those little whippersnappers to get them on the road to recovery I guess we can all understand that. But there’s nothing greater than puppy breath, is there? Those little ones deserve a chance at the golden life too! So if you would like to help us out, and are able to do so, we all appreciate your generosity. I am thankful for Ragom and all they have done for me.

Stay tuned. I will probably have an update on my exercising. I heard yoga is popular. Think it could be that? I hope not!

Hey everyone Tobi checking in.

Not much news to report. We got past the holidays. What a busy time of year. Lots of preparation and whew…… in no time at all it’s over. It was a good time for fur kids though. We all made out well. Clohe got a designer coat, can you believe that? Costs more than FM’s coat. No thanks…. I go for the edible stuff. You know……… the way to a man’s heart is through the stomach!

ARE WE DONE YET??

Hugs to Jenny, Mattie, Abbey and Deidra for giving me the opportunity to feel GOOD! While my back end is still a little weak, my mobility is good and I LOVE my 2 walks a day. Miss Jazzie has been more visible and what a sweetie she is. FM says she’s a flirt but I don’t care. She makes my tail wag!

CHECK OUT MY SMILE!

Rumor has it there are a couple people scoping out my bio. Don’t be shy. Let your placement advisor know you might like to meet me. My only requirement in a forever home is carpet and very few stairs. I would love to live with kids and other dogs. Even cats. I’m an all around happy guy. I just like my 2 short walks a day.

Stay tuned and thanks girls for sponsoring me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Especially my sponsors Jenny, Abbey and Mattie. And I could not forget Deidra. You are all so very special to me. Skye and Scout, a hug to you too. I see we have someone who loves us seniors too. Anonymous…. I of course want to thank you too. Thanks for caring and giving me the quality of life that all of us deserve. ( FM said that) My medicine is working wonders and I continue to get it everyday. I go for my short 2 walks even when it is freezing cold like today. I look at FM with those eyes, and she begrudgingly puts her coat on and off we go. I have not seen Miss Jazzie for a few days now. I am sure she is busy with the holidays. We have had so much company but the more the merrier I always say. More pets for me and possibly more food for me if things hit the ground. The down side is everyone likes to take pictures. Sometimes I think it gets out of hand but I have come to learn if I cooperate I will be rewarded with something edible. Yum. Yum.

We had quite the noisy crowd for New Years but my hearing is not what it used to be so I really was not bothered by it at all. I guess now things will get back to normal. I need the rest.

Thanks to all of you for the support you give Ragom and pups like me. Without all of you, where would we be? Wishing you a blessed 2011.

All my Christmas gifts.
I wonder who picked out that jingle bell collar?
Hmmmm…. Thank you Santa!

Merry Christmas to the Golden Seniors and their fosters! Merry Christmas to the Golden Seniors and their fosters from Anonymous

Sunday, November 21, 2010

WOW!!! Tobi here. First and foremost I need to thank my sponsor, Jenny Blomquist and her sweet RAGOM girls Abbey and Mattie for sponsoring me. A BIG HUG to all of you for helping me. And just in the nick of time. I have now started an anti inflammatory drug to help me with my mobility. There has been an obvious improvement in just days. I will have to be on it long term but Ragom feels I am worth it! YAY! The down side is that it is kind of expensive and this sponsorship really helped with the cost. If anyone else would like to help me out I SO WOULD APPRECIATE IT! Contact Ragom. I GUARANTEE foster Mom will keep you posted with updates and pictures, You know her and that camera. Life has been good for me in Ragom fostercare.

I have to tell you now that Halloween is over (and the contest of course) it has slowed down a bit. Thank goodness. A guy likes me needs his rest. I got my gift card and am still dreaming about what to buy. I have decided it will be something edible. Yum…yum... We are holding off on spending it hoping that my mobility will get better and I can go pick out my own things. I’m sure the camera will be along on that outing. One of my fans also told FM that they talked about the contest and me being the winner on 107.1 FM radio. Wow. I wish I would have heard that. Now that is stardom.

On to Christmas. I wonder what FM has up her sleeve for that. Oh dear. You never know.

I thought I was going to miss out on my walk today because of the ice storm but we managed to get out this afternoon. And guess who I saw? My girlie, Miss Jasmine. My tail wagged so hard and it was so good to see her again. Not sure where she has been but when we have gone by lately she is nowhere near. I think she was equally as happy to see me today too.

Time to watch a little football and catch a couple zzzzzzzzz’s.

Have a happy holiday and if you would like to help me out by sponsoring me, I sure would love it.

Love
Tobi Boy!

I think the snow is here to stay.

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Hey everyone…

I won! The contest…. I was the top vote getter. Thank you for all your support and I am SO EXCITED to spend my gift card. I had my eye on that duck but I see they have some knuckle bones filled with peanut butter. You know what they say about having too many choices. I am a big boy and do like to eat so I have to spend my money wisely and get the most for my dollar. Foster Mom is looking for some coupons in the Barkin News which might help me also. She is really proud that I won. I have to admit there were some good looking dudes dressed sharply in that contest. Foster Mom says Ragom has a large fan base which helped me immensely. Whatever I feel like I have won the lottery. I will keep you posted on what I choose to buy.

I’m dreaming about how I am going to spend my Chuck and Don’s gift card.

Did I tell you I have a girlfriend? She’s only 2 years old and the nicest looking golden I have seen in a long time. Her name is Jasmine. When we walk and get close to her house my tail starts wagging and I stand at her driveway waiting for her to come out. She has invited me in her yard a few times. We’ve played a little but something tells me she has a little more stamina than I. But we have a good time for a short time and I think she gets excited when she sees me coming too.

Not much else to report. Fall is here and it is my favorite time of year. Nice and cool. I get my couple walks a day and a nice brushing outside. Life is good. Here’s hoping snow does not come too soon.

Soon we will be wishing the flowers were blooming.

Thanks for checking in on me and thanks again for all your votes. You are all so wonderful!

Love Tobi

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Hello, hello. Happy fall everyone. Mr Tobi here. I know I am so late on an update for you. Not much new really. I am still hanging out in fostercare. I take daily walks a couple times a day. I love that. And then I get taken out to be brushed. Those birds should love the building materials I provide for them. Foster Mom says my coat is soo soft.

My health has been good. I am now eating out of a raised bowl and they put a tennis ball in the middle of my kibble. Something about I eat too fast? What a silly place for a toy. It may slow me down a bit but I do love my food.

Did you hear that I am in a Halloween contest? Foster Mom dressed me up as a bee and entered me in this goofy thing. One minute she says I am regal and so good looking and the next she has me dressed as a bumble bee. BZZZZZ……….. She also dressed me as a lady bug but I drew the line there. No way is she going to post that picture.

Amazingly I am doing so well in the contest. Thanks friends and fans. If I win Foster Mom says I can spend the gift card on a duck I have been eyeing up. May as well win if my picture is out there for the world to see. If you would like to vote for me, here is the link. You will know it is me if you go to the golden with the caption: My foster Mom thinks I am bee utiful. Contest ends Oct 31st. I appreciate your support.

Will keep you posted or feel free to follow my progress on the site.

Have a good week

Mr Tobi

Oh no, not that camera again.

You coming? Let’s go!

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Hey everyone Tobias here. For those of you who know me, Tobi for short. For those of you who want to know me, Tobi for short! I am told I am a very handsome gentleman by both men and women alike. I certainly am kissable and a very mellow fellow. Regal as I may be, I guess Foster Mom just gets her kicks out of dressing us up. Tis the season with Halloween right around the corner. We all know that Clohe does not care. Seriously she poses. How funny.

CHEESE!!!

Happy HALLOWEEN!

I checked out at the vet pretty darn good for an old senior boy. I weighed in at 92 pounds. A good weight for my frame. I do have some weakness in my back end. Dr. Larry called it degenerative neuropathy. I take Dasuquin to help with it but I get around ok. I am not going to run a marathon but I do look forward to my couple short walks a day.

I also have what is called gingival hyperplasia. Sounds scary huh? No, not really. It just means that a piece of my gum has begun to move up over one of my teeth. Certainly not a big deal and nothing that is going to require any attention. My teeth are not the greatest but if I was a human senior, I would have dentures. I can chew my food well and for me that is a big deal. I do love to eat!

I am a very happy boy and get along with creatures of all ages. Furry and human. I am looking for a forever home that has limited stairs and mostly carpet. If you would like to meet me, contact your placement advisor. We can make that happen.

Foster Mom says I am “BEE” utiful!!!

Stay tuned
