March 30, 2008:

Gypsy was adopted on Thursday by the W. family of Minneapolis. Gypsy was renamed Abby by her new Mom and her two daughters. Abby will also have a new furr brother, Buddy, at home to play with and help her grow into a fun loving dog. Best of all the W. family are RAGOM volunteers so FD will get to see this baby grow up.

From Abby's furever family....

Here are some memories of Abby -- she was a very special part of our lives:

  • Abby choosing Serena when we went to pick out a puppy at Kelly B's by climbing into her lap and falling asleep.
  • The way she used to carry stuffed animals out of the girls' room and pile them on the living room floor. If I put them back, she would just bring them out again :-).
  • The way she learned right away that if you sat nicely someone would give you a treat.
  • Her "muppetness".
  • The way she would fly from one piece of furniture to another in our living room when she was happy. We called her "flying puppy".
  • Her sheer joy when she played in the fresh fallen snow.
  • How she would jump into our bathtub after we bathed and then track muddy paw prints through the house.
  • How she would chew on her big brother's ears and tail trying to entice him to play.
  • The way she would "smile" when you called her name.
  • How she used to lay down on the arm of the sofa. It was her favorite "perch".
  • How she would cuddle in between Serena and me when sleeping in my bed at night. Of course, if we weren't in the "right position" she would whimper until we moved. Our little princess.
  • The way she made you happy just by being around her.

A note to let you know that Abby/Gypsy 08-070 crossed over the Rainbow Bridge earlier this afternoon. Abby was the feistiest girl of a litter of golden-doodles born on January 31, 2008. Unfortunately Abby's life was cut short by congenital kidney disease.

Abby was loved tremendously by Leslie and her girls, Ainsley & Serena. Hopefully the memories of Abby's "spunk" will be of some comfort to the W family in their time of grief.

Give each of your furrbutts an extra special hug in honor of Abby.

Foster Dad,

Kelly
