Bailey is a 10-year-old purebred female, darker red although not as dark as my older golden. Her latest vet records say she weighs 57 pounds, she looks bigger than that so we'll update that fact after we go to the vet. She had a traumatic separation from her family, followed by an hour or so in a strangers SUV, then she got to meet my two guys....all went smoothly during the introductions. She explored the fenced back yard while we unloaded her stuff and exchanged paperwork, and has been exploring the inside of my house ever since. Her records show that she is housebroken and so far that has been shown to be true. She came with several toys which are being saved for her either when she goes to her permanent home or later after things settle down and they are less likely to be ruined by my young rascal. Her crate is in the dining room in case she decides she needs a familiar spot.  I already know she does stairs as she has followed me to every part of my house but now, as I sit and type this, she's nowhere around...probably looking out one of the doors and pondering what has happened to her this afternoon or perhaps she's just lounging and listening to Public Radio play Chirstmas music. I'll update more as I get to know her and as she learns from my guys that the humans in this house are all okay.

(PS:)

Hours make a difference. Bailey is already relaxing and enjoying hanging out with my own dogs. She ate dinner heartily and seems to be fitting right in. More updates after our vet appointment next week.  (That's Bailey on the left.)

Bailey

"No longer by my side, but forever in my heart"

Bailey, never far from my side, left us for the bridge 1/21/10 at the age of 12 years & 1 month. When her gaze fell upon me I'd see a deep devotion reflected in her steadfast eyes. Her companionship a treasured gift.

Bailey was with us for two years & 2 weeks. Bailey gave back to Ragom, becoming a resident dog of a volunteer. She was able and willing to come along for home visits (her favorite) and events.

Bailey's fellow resident dogs (Bailey and Zoey) are deeply saddened with your loss from our family.

Bailey is now at the Rainbow Bridge with Honey, my first Golden, which brings me some comfort.

Rest in peace my Bailey - Bailey you were so dearly loved.

Bailey's forever Dad here.  Just wanted to let you know Bailey is still enjoying the Golden life in Richfield, MN. She has decided to see what she can do to ban anyone setting off fireworks within a mile of her. The neighbors across the back fence had a very nice display on the 4th. Her furbutt Sisters Bailey 8 (aka 08-124) and Zoey don't see the problem? Bailey still enjoys romping with Zoey and just chilling with B-8. Bailey has been a joy in our house. She came a few weeks after Zoey and I had lost Zoey's first big sis Honey who went to the bridge in December 2007. Bailey was Zoey's NEW big sis and Zoey could not have been more happy! And I would have to say Bailey sure enjoys Zoey and her other sister Bailey 8 who joined us in April of 2008.She is the best trained dog I have ever owned and I can't take credit she came that way. While our time will be shorter than I would like we will just cherish each and every day we get to spend with her. I know she is looking forward to the RAGOM fun run and picnic on September 19th 2009.She really enjoys swimming after tennis balls. Perhaps her DAD will remember to bring towels this year.

Hi from Bailey!

I'm living the golden life in Richfield, MN. I have a little fur-butt sister named Zoey. She's only 4 and I just had birthday #11 last month. I still enjoy a good romp and some wrestling with her. I found out it's fun having fur-butt sisters to hang out with. I also hang with my step fur-butt sister Bailey 08-124, She is only 10 &1/2 and only with us some of the time. I have come to love both my sisters. But I love my new Dad the most! I bonded with him fast! He calls me Velcro because I follow him from room to room around my new house.

Oh, I almost forgot, today is one year in my fur-ever home. So remember not to look past us seniors.

Bailey is just back from her vet appointment. She weighs 64 pounds. She is spayed. She is now up-to-date on shots and has a new microchip. She has two rather large fatty lipomas which were aspirated and are nothing but fat...which is okay. Her ears need to be cleaned but no sign of infection. Her teeth are worn but okay. She also had blood drawn for a heartworm test....so, unless we hear bad news from the heartworm test, Bailey is done at the vet and ready to find her new home. She rode nicely in the back of my SUV. She wasn't very happy at the vet's office and once we got home, she ran straight for the door...no zigging or zagging....she wanted to go in the house. She's now resting in a sunny spot in my dining room, listening to more Christmas music.

She has been doing well in foster care, she gets along with everyone and is just a part of the pack. She sleeps on the bed she came with at night and she has relaxed enough to climb onto one of the chairs in the living room (see photo)....I haven't seen her on any other furniture yet. She's more aloof than most goldens I've fostered, not as needy of constant attention. She tends to hang out on her own, near to the action, but not quite a part of it. In her previous home she had a two-year-old child, so she can be placed with children. She also totally ignores my cat, so she's good to go with cats.
