Good Morning All!
We have a new girl in Ragom. Her name is "Kylie". She is a Flat coated retriever, 7 years old, and will be at our home near Mille Lacs Lake. This is my first time with a flat coated retriever, actually I did not know about them. She is completely black and looks like a golden in side view. Her hair is very similar to a golden in length and feel. She's a very cute girl.
She has only been at our home since Saturday afternoon, and we all are learning, new home, new dogs - we have two resident dogs. So far she has blended in very well, the normal "Girl Dog" things. Who's boss etc, no big fights or anything just some dominance things. It is now the third day and all's well, so I guess she is just like all the other dogs, she wants attention, loves to go on walks, and with the new snow, its fun watching her run in it then roll and get covered, then start all over.
The one thing she told my resident dogs , her new Barney Toy is "hers" and don't forget it. We have had no issues with food guarding. She ties out as we have no fence, and our ride home from Cottage Grove to our home "up north" was not a problem even though it took longer with the snow. She likes to play ball and her previous owner said she loves to play in the water.
She is going to the vet today, Monday the 3rd for her regular check up. I will report on that later.
