11/27/07:  Oh My Darling Clementine..... Clem came to live with us on Saturday, he is tall, lean and incredibly sweet. He weighs approximately 70 pounds and is neutered.  Clem gets along great with other dogs, walks as if he's going down a runway and is great with kids.  He has acclimated to our lifestyle with little effort.  He loves to play fetch, play with resident golden and loves to watch television especially 101 Dalmatians.  I will update with picture soon, he also is very photogenic.

What a sweet pooch, Clem has decided if he shakes hands he should get his chin scratched... and if you puts his head on your arm, or lap he should get his chin scratched.  He is just sweet, he snores really loud and wakes himself up but he hasn't barked at neighbor dogs or people walking in our neighborhood.

Clem was returned to RAGOM as the family who adopted him didn't feel it was fair to Clem to be home alone because of work schedules.  Clem is mild mannered, eats fast but we've been able to overlook that little quirk of his.  He doesn't have any anxiety or seperation issues.  He gets along well with the resident golden.  He even ended up on the trampoline with resident child and friend.  I wouldn't recommend to have him jump on the trampoline and he and I did have a chat about that issue.    I will update soon.

Hi,

I just wanted to let RAGOM know how Clem is doing. At the PetCo event where we met him, someone gave him the name "Clem the Gem" and he certainly has lived up to his name. He is a great dog. It is kind of amazing how easily he has fit into our family. Not really any adjustment period. It is even more amazing since Clem is the first dog we have ever owned. Our friends and family say it seems like we have had him forever, he seems so right at home with us. He is smart and well mannered. He loves to go for walks and to play with all of us. He gets to play in a number of area parks off leash because he is very good at coming when we call. We don't have a fenced yard and that hasn't been an issue as Clem likes to stay near us or very willingly comes when we call him back from wandering too far. He gets to play with his two Lab "cousins" down the street and they all get along great. Most importantly my children love him and he enjoys them too. He truly is a family dog, wanting to spend time with all of us. Here are a couple of pictures, as you can see our kids take good care of him!

Yesterday Clem asked to go to the Oakdale PetCo event. He hadn't been bathed and groomed yet, but he wanted to meet some babes. He was a big hit. A family was there looking at another RAGOM kid and then saw Scruffy Clem. They had carefully looked at several dogs, but decided on Clem. Obviously, looks weren't a huge factor! Clem went to his forever home today, leaving a hole in our little pack that only he could fill. You'll be missed Little Sweetheart. May you live a long and happy life...

This sweet guy is a true hugger. He craves attention and responds lovingly to hugs. Clem (aka Brock) was abandoned and taken in by a kind-hearted woman. She turned him over to her vet as she had other animals and he needed medical care. He is currently being treated for a mild case of Lyme's Disease, ear mites, and a facial infection due to a run-in with a porcupine. His many quills and wood ticks have been removed. The battles with quills and bugs have been won and everything is under control. Clem just has to finish his course of antibiotics. Thankfully he tested negative for heartworm.

Clem gets along well with my cats and the foster dogs. He sleeps in his bed on the floor, but loves to join me on the bed when invited. Clem sleeps through the night, but you may wake up to a cold nose poking at you in the morning. He apparently never learned to counter surf -- hang ten! He has not touched the bags of dog food, but does vacuum up the kitties' dry food from their bowl on the floor. Maybe his name should be Hoover or Kirby. Not once has he shown any aggression when eating with the other dogs, but he sure loves to eat. Clem doesn't really eat, he devours his food!

We are guessing that Clem is between three and four years of age. We were told that he got along fine with the child of his rescuer. He walks well on leash, is obedient and even knows several commands. That doesn't mean he always obeys them, but he does know them! He is thoroughly housebroken and, in fact, will help keep the kitty litter box empty. He doesn't care much for the litter and prefers to wash off his treats in his drinking water. He's very neat that way.

Clem is a low-maintenance sweetheart with that wonderful Golden disposition. He will be right at home with any family willing to share their love with him.
