Profile

Here we are with Chapter 3 of Lucy's love life.  Max and Duke have both moved on to their forever home and our new boy Sam arrived here last night.Sam is a 7 year old former puppy mill boy from Iowa.  He is not like the stereotypical puppy mill dog, in that he is very friendly and not shy.  He is still getting used to our place so he is a bit anxious and paces.  But as I type this he has settled down nicely for a nap at my feet.  He loves the freedom of running in our fenced in back yard and seems to simply enjoy being in a real, loving home.  Sam is our 3rd foster and he is our first PM dog.  We look forward to seeing the happy Golden in him blossom.  Lucy and Sam get along great.  Although it is not as flirtacious of a relationship as with Max and Duke.  It seems as though Lucy understands that Sam has a few things to learn about how to be a happy dog and how to play and everything he's missed out on for the first seven years of his life.  Because of all this, we think Lucy has assumed the roll of a big sister (even though she's 5 years younger) to him rather than a girlfriend. Sam came to us from a vet/boarding facility in Iowa.  He was surrendered there in early November.  He is now UTD on all shots, but he did test positive to Heartworm.  They started treating him right away for that and will be getting his last meds for it this weekend.  He still needs to be neutered and at 88lbs he could probably stand to lose about 10 lbs.  We have a vet appt for him tomorrow to have him checked out and microchipped and talk about his whole medical history.  I've added several pictures of this distinguished gent and he is handsome.  He's a bit grey in the face, but isn't age just a number?  I will post more on this sweetheart in the next few days.  Please email RAGOM placement at placementatragom [dot] org if you'd like meet Mr. Sam Man....Thank you for reading up on him.  "I wonder when my forever family will be here?"
