Bud 07-609

Profile

Bud came into a shelter as a stray, but it's quite clear that he was well-loved because he is classic golden! Bud is always ready and willing whenever duty calls...be it running, fetching, tugging, smiling, kissing, rolling and smiling some more!! So far Bud has gotten along just fine with the other three dogs and he doesn't seem particularly interested in the cats. He's also been a pretty considerate playmate for our 4-year-old daughter (though I think she can do without all of the kisses!). And of course, last but not least, he hasn't had any accidents in the house. I'll need a few more days to get to know Bud a little better, but so far I'd say he's spectacular!!

What can I say...we are having a blast with Bud! He is a wonderfully well-balanced young dog. He is very playful, yet relaxed and self-assured. Bud's favorite game is fetching and he follows me all around the backyard with his ball. It's pretty funny because no matter what I am doing, he tries his best to work in that darn ball. I've found it in my watering can, the bird bath and in my tub of bird seed!

Bud must have been an indoor dog because he does very well inside. He has free run of the house and has been nothing but a perfect gentleman with the cats. Bud has never chewed anything other than dog toys, which is remarkable given how many of our daughter's toys are scattered around the house. Funny thing though...he must not have been allowed to sleep on the bed, because he didn't have a clue how to get up there! The other dogs hopped right up, but poor Bud just put his front paws up and whined. Eventually he figured it out and joined the rest of us. But then he had one more lesson to learn...don't sleep too close to the edge of the bed!

And last but not least, Bud went for a check-up and, aside from very minor eye and ear infections, got a clean bill of health. He weighed in at 74 pounds, which is perfect for him.

Bud is officially ready to roll!
