Duke 07-581

Profile

Welcome to chapter 2 of the adventures of Lucy and her boyfriends....

Meet Duke. He's been in our home for about an hour now and he is a big 2 year old goof. He is sooooo handsome! Duke is a mix and we're not sure what his other half is. He is a pretty big boy with big paws so he may be part St. Bernard. He is UTD on all items and was neutered last week. So he is all set to meet his forever home. He is pretty skinny and needs to gain some weight. He currently weighs about 70#'s, but we think he should be up near 85#.

He has been very well behaved so far and his girlfriend Lucy laid down the law right away and she is currently playing hard to get....He gets along great with all dogs so far and has shown no aggression or any issues.

He rode well in the car and is shy at first until he gets to know you.

This guy will make a great addition to any family.

We'll add more photos and updates in the days to come as we get to know him.

Please contact placement at placementatragom [dot] org if you'd like to meet him.

Thank you.

Well the time had come for Lucy and Duke to part ways like two ships in the night....

Duke has been adopted by a wonderful family. He will start his new golden life tonight and forever have a smile on his face knowing he has a loving home and a safe, dry, warm home to take his naps and get his cuddles in.

I know Duke is very happy and is very lucky to find such a loving forever home, but as I was thinking of what to write tonight I thought I would change things around and mention how lucky the Y family is to be taking in such a kind, gentle soul. Everyone is a winner on this placement. We are very happy for everyone involved.

We love you Duke and miss you already. Lucy sends you many kisses also....

For all those fans of Duke (including his girlfriend Lucy) here are some pics of them with their halloween hats on. We did not have one for Duke so he was happy to wear some reindeer antlers and santa hat while Lucy has her witches hat on. They're all set to hand out kids to all the trick or treaters.....

Good news! The V family is coming to meet Duke on Saturday. Wish him luck....

Thank you.

Duke is an absolute charmer. He has been such a good boy and has been so nice to foster. He is just a big cuddle bug that wants only to get some of the love he missed out on when he was roaming without a loving home as a stray.

Duke does great in his crate each night. He has no aggression and we're able take treats/bones and his food from him without it upsetting him. Lucy has grown fond of him and he likes to follow her around and copy her on alot of things. I think he's learning many things from her as a pet. He's house trained and loves car rides. He does well with kids and cats and everyone.

When he first arrived here a week ago he was so gentle, but quite skittish and timid. In just one week he has blossomed into a dog that seems to know he'll always have someone to love him and won't ever be wandering looking for a scrap of a meal or where the next dry place to sleep will be.

I still think he needs to go to a home with a fenced in yard and could learn alot from basic obedience classes. He does pull a bit on a leash, but that can be helped also with a class.

This kind, sweet boy is not a pure bred golden, but I guarantee you if you come meet him, you won't be able to not fall in love with his looks and charm.

I am kind of shocked that no one has been by to meet him yet. The pics of him do not even come close to doing him justice on how cute he is...Please email placementatragom [dot] org if you'd like to meet this sweetheart.

Thank you for reading up on him.

Duke has been with us for 24 hours now. I have nothing but great things to say about him. He and Lucy are flirting and she is warming up to the idea of dating a younger guy....

He slept well in his crate and was quiet all night. No accidents in the house and he has been very well behaved.

Duke is a stray that came down from the shelter in Cloquet, MN. He and his brother Larry/Harry 07-597 came down together. When he came to RAGOM he had many burrs and mats in his hair and the groomer had to cut off alot of it, even his tail feathers. He will be even more handsome when his hair grows back. His head is very large and blocky and he is so cute with his blonde coloring and white accents.

Duke listens well and knows the sit command. He has been curious about the cats, but shows no aggression towards them what so ever.

An obedience class would benefit him as he is a bit skittish and shy. All he wants is someone to love him. Now that he is part of RAGOM, that won't be a problem....

There are some more photos of Duke from this morning. He is a great dog and looks forward to that forever home out there somewhere for him.

Please contact placementatragom [dot] org if you'd like to meet him.
