Hunter has come to Apple Valley from Hawkeye, IA.  Hunter’s foster mom and dad made the 3 hour trip to pick him and his 5 other siblings and dad up.  Everyone rode in the car very quietly, but after the 3 hours everyone was ready to get out and RUN.

  

Hunter is a little boy who weighs around 8 pounds, is 8 weeks old, and is a golden looking boy.  He is not a pure Golden, but his father is and he acts just like a golden.  Hunter has a sore on his front paw that will be dealt with tomorrow when he goes to the vet for his first set of shots and to get chipped.

Well Hunter met his potential family last night and it looks like it was not a match, so now we are off and looking for another match for Hunter.  Let me tell you a little bit about Hunter.

 

Hunter is now 9 or 10 weeks old and weighs in at 10 pounds, he is a very mellow and wonderful little boy.  Potty training is finally coming around and he sleeps from 9 pm until 5, than he wants to get up and eat and than takes yet another nap.

 

In one of his pictures you can see his sore on his back pay.  We were thinking that this sore would never get hair but we can see now that there will be some hair covering it.  Currently he is on an antibiotic to make sure it is healthy and he is doing well with it.  We also put a liquid directly on the area to make sure it does not get infected while it is healing.

 

Hunter has this personality that just makes you melt, in the mornings he loves to be held and than again at night right before bed he loves to lay on your lap until he is ready for bed.  Yep he loves to be held and will ask you to pick him up by crying.

Hunter is doing great, he went to the vet yesterday and he has round worms so he got his first treatment for that.  Hunter weighed in at 8.3 pounds.  Hunter is the biggest of the Hawkeye puppies, but he is also the biggest baby.  Hunter LOVES to be held and cuddled.  However, he can hold his own when it comes to play time.

 

The puppies are finally getting use to sleeping in-doors.  The first couple of nights were rough, but we are definitely getting better.  The puppies have all figured out that you poop outdoors in the hay, but the Pee thing gets the best of them and we are not there yet.  With time we will be!
