Dakota 07-432

Profile

Meet Dakota.  He is a beautiful 3 year old AKC deep red golden. He is an owner surrender due to running away.  He was an outside dog so I don't blame him for trying to leave.  He rides well in the car and he walks like a dream on a leash.  He has had some basic obedience training because he can sit, lay down, and come when called.  He had a much needed bath and brushing today and took it like a pro.  He also let me clean his ears which by the looks of them hadn't been cleaned in 3 years!  He is scheduled to be neutered on July 13th.  More to come after his vet appointment.

Dear Ragom,

I am having to write this SAD message, that we had to help Dakota to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. He was the GREATEST dog a family could ask for, and if it wasn't for your organization we would have never found him. We miss him so much already and his fur brother is very quiet at this time. Hopefully in time we can adopt another RAGOM dog. Thank-you so much for giving us the opportunity to give Dakota a home and be apart of our family. He had lots of LOVING with all the family the day before on Christmas. Thanks to all of the Volunteers that give of their TIME and money to HELP these wonderful dogs. God Bless you all and hope the NEW YEAR brings happiness to everyone.  Bob, Bonnie K. and Family.

Dakota has been a wonderful house guest for just over a week now.  He is very well-behaved, house-trained, and sleeps on his dog bed on the floor next to our bed.  He has free run of the house and we trust him completely.  He loves to play fetch and brings his tennis ball right to us and drops it at our feet in anticipation of the next throw.  I don't think he knew what a kiddie pool was but has since discovered he likes it very much.  He loves being an "indoor" dog and you would never guess he used to live in an outdoor kennel. At the moment he's the only dog at our house but he has lived with two female dogs and two cats and got along fine with them.  He is wonderful around children of all ages.  He doesn't beg or try to steal food.  He really has no bad habits at all.  If you would like to meet this special guy please send an email to placementatragom [dot] org
