How do you spell "delightful".... S-A-N-D-I.

Sandi is a lovely 2 year old, 54 lb., well socialized little dolly of a Golden girl.  She is petite, but can handle herself well in a wrestle fest with our largest dog, who at only a year old is 80+ lbs. and twice her size.  She melded into our pack, of four resident dogs, very nicely and is very respectful and playful and boy can she run - she is incredibly fast!

She seems to know quite a few commands, comes when called and walks on a leash, with just a flat collar, like a dream.  She could teach our dogs a thing or two about gentle heeling.

Sandi came to RAGOM as an owner surrender due to "not enough time".  She lived with children ages 5 years and 2 years. She seems a bit needy, but given her family didn't have time for her, it's totally understandable.  We've assured her that her forever family will indeed have lots of time and attention to devote to her.

She is up to date on all her vaccinations, is heartworm negative and now on prevention and after having her spay surgery next week - should be ready to find her forever family.

Stay tuned for more on Sandi.

Hi there.... it's me - Sandi.  Foster Mom said that so many of the other foster dogs are barking their own stories, and I should bark mine.... so here goes.  I also have lots of pictures to share too.

Life's been kinda busy since I came here to live with my foster family.  I had to go get spayed and it was okay - but
I was supposed to be quiet and not play for a really long time after I came home but I wasn't very good about being quiet.  It's no big deal though, because I'm totally healed up and I heard my Mom say that I'm no worse for wear, whatever that means.

I really like my foster family and they like me.  All the dogs here are like me, and they were all rescued dogs, so I guess that's why I fit in so good.  Here's a picture of my foster fur brothers and me.  I'm the one sitting pretty on the far left.  I discovered that I LOVE to play and I really like the big hairy guy, Doogan, he's my favorite play pal. He's only 1 year old, so he's still kinda puppy like. Here's some more pictures of me playing with Doogan.  Did I tell you that I LOVE to play?  All the dogs are really nice to me and I play nice with them too which makes my foster Mom and Dad really happy.

Last weekend, we went to the cabin, and I got to meet more dogs.  Mom said they are my "foster cousins" - so that was really fun.  I got to play with Keva, the Border Collie and guess what... yup, she's a rescued dog too! She had to have surgery on both hips when she got adopted - but she's fine now and she is a great wrestle buddy. I really had fun
playing with her. See the picture of me with Keva.

After I played for awhile, I got to go with my foster brothers into the creek.  Yea, Mom said I couldn't get wet - but I guess I didn't know what wet means.  I do now... it means SWIMMING!!!!!!  I LOVE Swimming!  Rudy showed me how to get out of the creek - it was fun, but then some people riding horses came down the road, so we got locked up on the screen porch!  That was no-fun, but it was only for a little while.

Anyway - it's fun here and I LOVE to play. Foster Mom told me I have to tell you that I had three potty accidents in the house, but not for a couple of days now, so she thinks I'm getting that figured out.  I don't jump up as bad any more - but sometimes I just can't contain myself.  My new thing is "pawing" for attention and Mom said we have to put a stop to that!  Oh, and Doogan and I ate a bag of taffy. It was his idea and he's so tall, he found it right there in the middle of the kitchen table, so he shared it with me. It was YUMMY!

Better go play now, hey - did I tell you that I LOVE to play?

Bye bye,

Sandi

Sandi is home today after her spay surgery yesterday. Everything went fine, but the anesthesia must have disagreed with her as she threw up a few times late yesterday.  She would not eat or drink at the hospital, but did manage a few laps of water and ate a few pieces of boiled chicken for me just a little while ago.  We'll try some more later.  She is having a hard time leaving her incision alone, and seems to have a mysterious case of selective hearing, because I get no response when I say, "Sandi - no licking".  We may have to be creative in covering her tummy and groin area or resort to the dreaded cone.  Will have to see how that goes.

She will be spending the next several days resting and recovering, so we likely won't have much to report.

Didn't take Sandi long to find her favorite bed when she got home from the hospital today!
