6/12/07: Hi. Sal here... Well, we arrived at our new foster home last night and have settled in quite nicely. We met the resident dogs and cat and everyone gets along real well. There is an annoying bird here though that squawks a lot and it scares my brother, Leo. Mom says we have to go to the groomer next week because we are so shaggy and hot. She tried to shave my feet, but I didn't let her. I'll show her who's boss...hee hee.

We are waiting for our microchips (what's that?) before we go to the vet. Our old mom and dad sent our vet records with us and our shots and stuff are all up to date.

Mom says we are both very sweet boys and that makes us smile a lot. Dad is a bit tired today. We decided it was time to play at 3 a.m. with the resident dog and we all ended up in bed with mom and dad to play. Mom is tired, too. We promise to sleep better tonight.

Leo is kind of a scaredy-cat. He is afraid of the water bowl. It is one of those 5-gallon jugs that goes glub-glub when you drink from it. I don't mind it. Mom set a different bowl out for Leo. We are going to go for a big walk and play this evening when it gets cooler up in the vineyard (what's a vineyard?). We love being in the country. Lots of room to play and poop.

We can't wait to go to our forever home. We would really like to stay together as brothers. Mom said if she didn't know better, we could be conjoined twins, whatever that means. I do love my brother and he loves me. Does someone have room in their hearts for two big teddy bears?

Well, until next ime... I will let my brother write this next time :)

Hi there!  My brother and I had a very stressful day.  Mom made us go to a "spa" and get haircuts.  Whew...I do not like the clippers.  The groomer had to call mom and tell her I was not being very cooperative, but that must have been OK cuz mom told her to do the best she could.  I had a big mat in my pretty tail and the groomer shaved my tail!  How humiliating!  But she found a big sore under all that fur and mom put some cream on it and it does feel better.  Mom says my pretty tail will grow back out.  Just takes time.  Afterwards, mom took us to see dad at his fire station and meet the other firemen.  They think we are soooo big!  But we saw bigger dogs last night.  Mom says they were mules.  What kind of dog is that?    My brother and I were mesmerized watching those big "dogs" eat.  I'm glad I don't have to eat weeds.  Yuck.  I got to run loose in the vineyard with Emmett, the resident dog.   He showed me all kinds of great things to sniff.  That was so fun!  We were so glad to be home today.  I just flopped down on the kitchen floor.  But then mom made us go out on the deck for pictures.  Gee whiz, can't a guy get any rest?   I have to admit, mom is pretty smart.  I do feel so much better now that I don't have all that fur around my neck. Well, I'm going to sleep now.  Until next time. Love, Sal
