5/17/07: Hi Everyone. Clancy here.

Well, it's been a week since I was surrendered to RAGOM from my last home in Iowa.  It has been a very big change for me.  I just had my last litter of puppies 9 wks ago and these RAGOM people are telling me that  after 7 years of having puppies it is finally over.  Well, I don't know what to make of that.  It is all I know how to do.

These RAGOM people are telling me that I am their new Foster dog... whatever that means?  They are wanting me to call them Mom & Pop.  People have never been nice to me before so why should I trust these two? I think I'm content to be hiding in the corner. When they talk in these high pitched sounds and try to kiss me, I guess the only thing I can do now is cower away from them.

They do take me for walks on this long rope like thing. I think they call it a leash.  I scares me.  I tried to hold in my business for two days but I had to finally go with them watching me all the while on this leash thing.  They seemed quite pleased about that.

Eating, well that is another problem for me.  It seems they want to be in the same room with me while I'm eating!!  At first I waited until they left the room to eat, but now, this food tastes so good that I let them stand & watch me.  They get a bit closer to me each day. Whatever! And, get this!  They try to give me treats?? What are treats?? I don't want anything from those paws of their's that could possibly hit me.

They also want me to wag my tail and be happy. Yeah right!  The only time I'm happy is when my foster Mom's friend comes over with Duke the Yellow Lab.  I like him!  THEN I wag my tail and run, jump & play.

Shhhh, I hear them talking... I better stop complaining to you all because they are actually saying that I am a great little 39 pound Golden Retriever.  I guess that it is good to be a Golden Retriever? They are even saying that they see me coming out of my shell and I will be the best dog in the world real soon!  They also said that the Vet told them that I passed all my health tests with flying colors.  Well, good for me!  I heard that I will be going back to the Vet on Monday 5/21 to get spayed. I might have to get my Uterus as well as my ovaries taken out because I might have a slight infection, but they are saying that is no big deal.

Well, I'll let you know what happens next.

Oh, one more thing... my "foster" parents, Kenton & Hermene, took me to their cabin up north last weekend.  I got to ride in a boat and I guess I liked it!  I think I'd like to go back up there real soon.  I looked at the loads of water which they called a Lake and I think they said I could go swimming when it warmed up.  I guess that's something else they think I would like. We'll see.

Bye for now.
Little Clancy's Ginger Snap (my AKC Name... whatever that is?)
P.S. They have a white cat named Bijou.  I think I like that stupid cat. It's a real klutz! HA! HA!
