Jim and Kathy P.Samantha 07-136 fostered in Aitkin, MN. She is 2 years old. This is Samantha otherwise known as Sammy. She is from a puppy mill in North Dakota. And is really glad to be in Minnesota. She is a very timid girl. But is coming out nicely.  She has the cutest face and a personality to match. (she is showing it more and more everyday.)We had a trip to the Vet today, and she is free of worms and heartworms. There is a very good possibility she is pregnant and we will go back in a couple weeks to find out for sure. So until we do, we will have to wait to find a forever home. She gets along well with my other foster Golden Nugget 07-053 and the resident dog Lewie. She is a little possessive of food and toys, which is only understandable after the way she has lived. So she gets fed separately. And nobody seems to mind. She has a small wound on the back of her neck from an embedded collar. But it is healing really well. She had only one potty accident in the house, and that was the first time she came in. So really that doesn't count. She has gone outside everytime since then. Sammy is a small Golden. With a big heart. And loves to be petted and hugged. She can't get enough. I will keep you updated on this little girl. I am sure there will be alot of milestones for her.

The last update....Sammy is doing great. She misses her pups, but is finding her freedom fun. She hasn't gone for a walk since she has had her pups because she wouldn't leave the yard. Yesterday morning I asked her to come along and she just stood by the house. So Lewie (resident dog) and I continued with our walk. We have a very long driveway, so halfway down I looked to see if she was coming and she was gone. I was sure she went back in the house ( she has learned to open the screen door on her own) to be with her puppies. When we got to the end of the driveway, I was going to hook Lew up to the lead and saw her barreling down the driveway. I've never seen her run like that (or run, period!). It was like she discovered they were gone and she now had the freedom to leave the house. She was so happy and she went the whole walk. We also went to her future adoptive home on Monday to visit. She really liked it there. Ran up and down the dock and on the pontoon. Mr and Mrs. G fed her supper by hand and she really liked that. She will be spayed next Wednesday and will go to her forever home on July 1st. I will miss her. She has been through a lot in the last 3 months - now it is time for her to live like a dog, and enjoy the Golden life!

Sammy is doing great. This weekend we had alot of company and she really did well with socializing. She approaches people she doesn't know better. Not all the time but most. She let people come in the mud room and play with the puppies as long as I was with them. Everyone that meets her thinks she is so cute.

It is exhausting being a mom.

Sammy, is still a little timid with strangers. And having the puppies is slowing things down a bit. She is great with my husband and I. She lets us handle her pups and she lets our resident dog in the mud room now. But strangers are a whole different story. But I think she will do better when the pups are older. We did take her out in the pontoon tonight. I think she liked it. She wasn't scared or timid about anything. She does go in the lake up to her belly and dig out sticks. She is the cutest dang thing. Her eyes are the darkest brown ever. I do think she would be good for a family without kids, beings she is so timid yet. If you think you can wait for this girl and give her a loving home contact RAGOM.

"I really don't like this picture, but foster mom thinks I am so darn cute pregnant. Good thing she took a picture because it will be the last time!!  Check out my new collar!!!"

Boy, was I surprised to walk into the mud room and find Golden Nugget 07-053 and Samantha 07-136 sharing a crate!!! One from North Dakota and the other from Missouri. These two have a lot in common, even though they are from different states. Samantha is doing great. She is definitely pregnant. Vet thought as of Wednesday she would be due in about 2 weeks. I will keep you updated on the arrival and her progress. She did go to the groomer last week and did well. She was of course timid and a little scared, but let the groomer cut her nails and clean her ears. Her coat is soooo soft. She looked so cute and nice!!! The groomer said she started falling asleep when he gave her the "shampoo massage". Sounds good to me. Her wound on her neck is getting a lot smaller. Soon she should be able to wear a collar. We walk in the morning and she does pretty well - just kinda goes with the flow. And, she is good with the cats - just kinda ignores them. We'll let you know when the new additions arrive!
