Now for any golfers out there, bogey may not seem like such a good thing but our Bogey is different.  After all he has been through, he is doing wonderfully!  Yesterday he picked up a tennis ball outside.  Today he played with the other 2 dogs and has been wagging his tail--yay!  He is still much more comfortable hanging out in his kennel, but he is coming out more and more (without being bribed with hotdogs).  He has been eating very well, out of my hand and out of a bowl.  He's a little small right now (40 pounds) but the vet assured me with the proper diet he should grow more.  He is fine wearing a collar, a nice red one with his RAGOM tag.   I put a leash on him today and he was unsure of it, but I promise to keep working with him, showering him with love, and I am confident he will come out of his shell.  Come back often to see Bogey's progress. I know there will be lots to write about!

What an exciting week for Bogey--he was adopted by the M. family.  It didn't take long for him to warm up to them on the first visit, and when they left, he whispered to me, "I think this is my new family."  The first night in his new home he had already said goodbye to the kennel and is now sleeping with his grandma and new brother Bailey.  He is home!

Special thanks to the Rawski Family for sponsoring Bogey. Wwith your help he will live a great life--running, swimming, chewing like a dog should.  We are all grateful for your support.

Bogey went to the vet last week and was taken care of (neutered).  It was a long car ride for him; they assured me he did well but I must say he was happy to get home.  He is still very mellow and I think that Bogey would prefer a quiet, less active home.  He seems most comfortable when it's just Jeff, the two dogs and I.  We are going to do more socializing with him to help him get more comfortable with other people and other dogs.  This will include bringing him to Chuck and Don's this Saturday and arranging some play dates with other RAGOM volunteers.  I have been taking him on walks every day and he just loves it, or maybe it's just the treats he gets.  :-)  Here's a picture of Bogey smiling after our walk last night.  See you at Chuck and Don's on Saturday!
