3/25/07: Hi, Irish here, let me introduce my 2 siblings and myself to you.  We are Irish (07-140), Joliet (07-139) and Keswick (07-138).  We came from a puppy mill in North Dakota yesterday and have just started our journey towards living the Golden Life that we dreamed about since we were born.

Our foster mom tells us that she thinks we are about 8 weeks old.  While our start in life has been a difficult one, the true spirit of our Golden nature is already peeking through and we should be a wonderful addition to anyone who wants to be our forever family.  We do have a few obsticles to overcome first.  When we were rescued by RAGOM, the vet told our foster mom that we have Strangles.  This is NOT contagious.  It is caused by an overload on our tiny immune systems (lack of good food, no clean environment, lots of stress on both our mom and us).  The good news is that this is all reversable.  We have already started down the road to recovery and as we grow older you might only notice small signs of our rough start in life (like dry skin). Our foster mom tells us that we get to hang around "Camp Canine" for about a week and then we will be ready to find that family whom we can call our own.  I guess the wait won't be so bad...hey, we get spa baths, great food and naps in the sun.  Speaking of naps, the birds are singing so sweetly outside the window that I think I'll  take one now.

Hi, Irish here,  I moved on with the Golden part of my life today when I went home with the "S" family.  I am really looking forward to lots of play time and snuggles with my new family!  I think I heard the word treats talked about too!  Before I go, I want to share my feelings on Love:  When we were born, our mother had never known love and as far as she knew, she never would.  Love does not come from the owner of a puppy factory who only keeps grown up dogs around to produce puppies for money.  My mom, aunts, and uncles all deserve to know the meaning of love and thanks to so many people, now they will.  I have learned in the last two weeks, that love comes in many forms.  First, there were all of the volunteers in Hastings, MN who loved us all so much, they didn't even mind our less than pleasant odor.  Next, there are all of the foster families who have been so patient and kind.  I know that it isn't easy to get up at 2:00 a.m. and take us whiny pups outside in a snow storm to go potty.  I have also heard that it wasn't easy to sit patiently and keep trying to get my aunts and uncles to eat (anything).  But I know that they love us and because of that love, we will all get through this.  Then there is the love of the people who have sponsored so many of us - especially my sponsors Sue, Lori and Monty.  For that love, I say thank you!  Finally, our foster mom took us to a very kind vet at Arden Hills Vet Clinic who offered his service to RAGOM so that my brother, sister and I could get healthy enough to find our Golden families.  And now I know the love of a family that I can call my own. You see, there is love in the world!  You can see it everytime a dog wags their tail or gives you a smile.  It is our way of saying THANK YOU and WE LOVE YOU TOO!!

Hi, Irish here again. What a week this has been.  My brother, sister and I went to the vet on Tuesday.  He said that we did not have any further signs of Strangles so it looks like good food, clean living, and some antibiotics have done the trick.  Speaking of good food, I have gained just over two pounds in 3 days.  I guess that I was a little thin when I came here because my foster mom says that I am starting to look like a healthy, happy puppy.  We got our first set of shots (not so much fun) but we all took it in stride.  I am still looking for that family that I can call my own.  My foster mom keeps telling me that I am soooo sweet so I know that there is someone out there for me.  My foster mom also told me that I have a sponsor.  It is wonderful to know that there are so many good people out there working to give us the "Golden Life."
