3/25/07: Hi, Joliet here, let me introduce my 2 siblings and myself to you. We are Irish (07-140), Joliet (07-139) and Keswick (07-138). We came from a puppy mill in North Dakota yesterday and have just started our journey towards living the Golden Life that we dreamed about since we were born. Our foster mom tells us that she thinks we are about 8 weeks old. While our start in life has been a difficult one, the true spirit of our Golden nature is already peeking through and we should be a wonderful addition to anyone who wants to be our forever family. We do have a few obsticles to overcome first. When we were rescued by RAGOM, the vet told our foster mom that we have Strangles. This is NOT contagious. It is caused by an overload on our tiny immune systems (lack of good food, no clean environment, lots of stress on both our mom and us). The good news is that this is all reversable. We have already started down the road to recovery and as we grow older you might only notice small signs of our rough start in life (like dry skin). Our foster mom tells us that we get to hang around "Camp Canine" for about a week and then we will be ready to find that family whom we can call our own. I guess the wait won't be so bad...hey, we get spa baths, great food and naps in the sun. Speaking of naps, the birds are singing so sweetly outside the window that I think I'll take one now.
