Arizona Buddy 06-304

Profile

My name is Buddy, and I have lived up north here now for about the last 16 months.  Before that I lived in a very hot place (Arizona) where I had to stay outside all the time by myself.  Since living up here I have met many wonderful RAGOM people, and I am so much happier now because I get to be indoors where I can love my family to pieces.  Foster mom and dad say I am the most affectionate dog they have ever known.  My favorite thing to do is snuggle right up close, get lots of pets, and stay right by foster mom and dad’s side.  I think they love all the affection… little do they know how I have wrapped them right around my paw with my adoring eyes, good looks, and laid back ways.

The wonderful couple who rescued me from Arizona and brought me to Minnesota just could not keep me, and that is how I got to be a RAGOM boy.  I lived with a trucker for a little while and then a very nice family with lots of kids.  Though I got along great with the kids, I didn’t particularly care for all the dogs who ran up to my face off of the walking path that went right by my yard.  So here I am now looking for a home with people who love affection, have time to give me attention, and don’t mind if I follow them every where they go.  Foster mom and dad think I would enjoy being the only dog because I love people so much, and some other dogs get me a little upset sometimes.  Also, they have a large fenced in yard where I get to be the retriever I was born to be by playing fetch with my balls.  It would be great to have a nice safe yard in my new home too, and someone to throw me my balls over and over again.

By the way, I am 7 years old now and a very healthy boy.  On my last visit to the vet I weighed 76 pounds and was told that is the perfect weight for me.  I love to be brushed, am very patient with being groomed, and was totally cooperative at the vet's office (they were very impressed).  I am very friendly to everybody I meet, and just such a happy-go-lucky guy.  I love to go on walks and don’t pull on my leash.  I also love my toys and enjoy just carrying them with me every where I go.  Foster mom and dad say I have been a perfect house guest.

If you want someone to have lots of cuddle time with, then I am the guy for you.  I would be so very, very happy to give you all my love and devotion.

Our beautiful Golden Boy, Buddy (formerly Arizona Buddy), crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. He was the most remarkable companion that came into our lives at just the right time. We helped one another over a difficult road. Buddy has earned again and again his TRUE FOREVER HOME. He has a special place in our hearts and will be remembered very fondly.

We love you and miss you, Buddy.

Buddy Enjoys the Contented Life

Buddy (formerly Arizona Buddy - #06-304) came to us in June of 2007. He has celebrated two birthdays with us, his FOREVER PARENTS - Ruth and Ron W of Owatonna, MN. Buddy is energetic and the most affectionate Golden we've ever known. His journey to us was one filled with a certain amount of loneliness for him. He was rescued from a life on a chain in hot, hot Arizona by watchful Minnesotans. When he arrived here he was given to RAGOM. Efforts to find a FOREVER family met with several glitches and situations that simply didn't work out - probably because of his anxious and somewhat fearful personality. RAGOM worked hard to find him his dream family and life - a place where he could know contentment for the first time in his life. His foster family took great care of him until we arrived on the RAGOM scene. With the help of a great trainer and a huge amount of patience and love from his extended forever family (including two little girls who love him so) he is a happy dog; content with his life and full of love for his family. Buddy brings joy and happiness to us for that we are very grateful.

This is a final update... a note from Buddy's new family along with some pictures.

"Hello, Cheryl, Teresa, John and other RAGOM volunteers..

The adoption is complete. Buddy is in his forever home. He is a great, loving dog. We’ve had one terrific walk, several romps in the backyard; keep away games with every imaginable dog ball (we’re working on retrieving and dropping the ball as opposed to keep away!!) Buddy’s napped with me in my home office; he’s napped in the library with his Dad; and now he’s thinking about supper. Rest assured that Buddy is now an Owatonna Golden living in his very own home with his very own FAMILY. His life will have nothing but happy endings thanks to RAGOM and all of the fosters that have crossed his path. Thank you for keeping him safe for us.

R. and R.W. – Proud parents of Buddy ~ formerly of Arizona."
