Jake was also well known and loved in our acreage development where we were quite the fixture walking to and from the shelterbelt trees – sun, snow, wind or rain! Last spring, his legs began to fail and we walked slower and slower. Neighbors would ask worried questions whenever we walked without him. As his legs became weaker, we would drive him to the trees so he could still walk a little in his favorite place. At the end, we would just drive out and sit in the grass for a while. Jake always loved it and was a happy boy.
