Topaz 01-134

Profile

Topaz is a 2 year old male who was rescued from an Iowa Puppy Mill. He had spent his life isolated, poorly cared for, and used constantly at stud. This poor boy joined RAGOM scared to death, filthy dirty, and with injuries to many parts of his body. He was infested with both hookworms and whipworms, and his ears were filled with bacteria-laden gunk. So far, Topaz has been very slow to warm up to the love and care of his new found life. He's a golden though, and we have high hopes for him!

Dear Ragom,

We adopted Topaz almost 8 years ago. He was one of four dogs rescued from a puppy mill in Iowa.

Topaz is our miracle boy; shortly after we adopted him, we had his lip surgically fixed so he would look normal (it had been torn at the puppy mill owners). Two years ago he injured both of his back legs and had to have TPLO surgery. Dr. Quast at Inver Grove Animal Hospital made sure he was taken care of immediately and we began the journey of two major surgeries and a long recovery using a tread mill in a water tank. Topaz would exercise every weekend at the lake during the summer, walking the length of the docks to gain his strength back. He has fully recovered and is aging gracefully. He is loved by his mom and dad, sister-Nugget and two cats. He loves the lake, likes to sit outside and look over the property and never misses a meal (can you tell?). He has been a wonderful dog and he lets us know every day how much he appreciates being rescued from horrific conditions. Thank you RAGOM for bringing this boy into our life, we have treasured every day with him. Attached are some of our favorite pictures of Topaz in the past few months.
