Sadie (Snow 02-037)

Profile

Snow arrived at our house last night after a very long car ride first from Iowa and then across the cities as her litter mates were dropped off. Snow is an absolute sweetie! She is 11 weeks old and is medium gold in color with signs of her feathers coming in. She is not housebroken yet, but we are making strides as she did poop outside this morning - a few wet messes in the house but that is to be expected. She adores the kids! When she heard them get up this morning, she mustered her courage and climbed all the stairs to get to them to say hello, a really scary feat for a little puppy, but she was determined.

As I write this she has climbed into a pile of stuffed animals and made herself a little "nest." She could almost be one of the teddy bears sleeping there. Snow would be an ideal member of any family who has the patience and time to raise a wonderful puppy!

Hello. We adopted our golden/yellow lab mix through RAGOM in February 2002. Sadie (previously Snow #02-037) instantly bonded with our family and was a wonderful, mellow, loving, sweet addition to our lives. 10 years and a couple weeks after bringing her home, we said goodbye to her on Tues, February 28, 2012. She was just over 10 years old. It was one of the most difficult days of our lives and the most difficult day thus far for our kids. Our son was 3½ years old and our daughter 6 weeks old when we adopted Sadie. They are now 13½ and 10 and didn’t know what life was like without their dog and best friend. We also have a miniature schnauzer we adopted two years ago and she is lost without her big sister and best buddy.

Our hearts are broken and we miss Sadie every day. However, we know she is free, happily running and playing and we’ll see her again someday. We take comfort in knowing we were able to end her suffering and stop the cancer that was slowly taking her from us.

Our thanks go out to your organization for bringing Sadie into our lives and for all the wonderful things you do for so many animals and families. Below is our family picture from October 2011.
