Hello RAGOM friends, I'm writing with a heavy heart and lots of tears to share with you our lovely best friend Maggie has passed away to a new place. She was diagnosed with kidney disease/failure on Sept 1, 2010. We absolutely treasured spending a lovely warm fall, another Thanksgiving, Christmas, AND....celebrated her 17th Birthday on January 16th with her!! She made it through early spring and passed over to her sweet beach in heaven on April 26th. Our awesome vet, Dr. Tim Hunt, let us know he's never seen a golden live such a long, healthy life. Up until last fall, she was running up the steps, fetching sticks, rolling in the grass and snorkeling in the snow. She, of course, like all of these beauties, had the purest heart and brought joy to our greyest days. She was timid at times to very certain things: skateboards, brooms, fireworks, some vets, & ALL beagles (!) but moreover was the most kind, generous soul we are so so grateful to have had in our lives for over 8 years. I must tell you one thing that has brought me through some difficult, sad, sleepless nights when Maggie was in the vet hospital overnight with her IV and now since she's gone, has been to read about the amazing stories from foster parents of other little pups who will hopefully soon join their families they're meant to to be with and will bring light to their lives, as Maggie has done for ours. We give all of you amazing volunteers, fosters, administrators, transporters and big lovers of dogs so much credit and admiration for what you do for the dogs and in turn, for the humans who benefit from your work. Thank you, thank you for the gift of Maggie!! Love, Four pics of Maggie loving life!
