Pippi Shortstocking
September 23, 2003 - August 5, 2020

Dear Friends at RAGOM,
We said goodbye to our beloved Pippi on August 5th. She was almost 17 years old! We are heartbroken, but relieved that she is running free over the Rainbow Bridge. She led an extraordinary life, and we are so grateful that she filled our house with love for so many years.

We adopted Pippi when she was 9 weeks old. We named her “Pippi Shortstocking” because she had 4 little white socks. She was half Golden Retriever and half Australian Shepherd, and was the cutest puppy ever!

Pippi was a remarkable girl, who brought her boundless joy to everyone she met. Her resilient spirit in her later years astounded us, her numerous friends, and the vets who lovingly cared for her.

Pippi was all about joy and adventure. She went almost everywhere with us, including 40 trips to the North Shore. She loved walks in Tofte Park, hiking to the top of Oberg Mountain, trips to Grand Marais, snowshoeing with us off the Gunflint Trail, and taking refreshing swims in Lake Superior.

She loved playing fetch with her Airdog and Flying Squirrel in the backyard, and loved playing hide-and-seek with her blanket and toys with her dad.

She was also well known in our neighborhood, and logged over 3,000 miles in her last 8 years on our daily walks. Some of our neighbors called her “The Wonder Dog”. She truly was.

Pippi was incredibly smart, always smiling, and was a great sister to her 3 cat siblings. We will miss the huge presence that she had in our lives, and we are so grateful for the extra time that we had with her. She definitely lived a Golden Life, and we are so thankful for all of the wonderful memories that we have with her.
