Natasha 04-128 and Zeon 04-129

Natasha and Zeon are 8 year old altered female and male, UTD on shots but due in May. They lived with an 18 month old child and were great with him and any other children they met. They are both good with other dogs, though Natasha likes to be the dominant dog in the group....she's never shown any aggression, just wants to be in charge. They lived with cats about 5 years ago and were fine with them. These two sweeties needed a new home because their family is having another baby and they just didn't have time for the dogs anymore.

This morning we woke up at 4:30 a.m. to the thunder, lightning and Zeon panting. He was shaking by the bed so we let him up on the bed with us and my husband cuddled with him and he was fine. We were thinking if we had a storm when we were awake we would have tried to play fetch or something to get Zeon's mind off the storm, but when a storm happens during the middle of the night, we just want to sleep. Both dogs usually just sleep on the floor around the bed at night.

Natasha and Zeon had a busy schedule yesterday. Amidst their two daily walks, fetch and snuggle time they went to the vet and after that had a photo shoot. The vet weighed them and Natasha is 64 pounds and Zeon weighed in at 58 pounds. Zeon is missing a few teeth. This explains why it is so easy to get the tennis ball away from him. Natasha likes to wrestle to keep the tennis ball but if you stop trying to get it she just drops it in your lap. The vet said they looked great and gave them shots. When Natasha went in for her check up, Zeon was a little anxious and kept pacing back and forth in the lobby looking for Natasha. Zeon would probably have a hard time adjusting to life without Natasha. Conversely, when Zeon went in with the vet Natasha was fine and didn't mind being without Zeon at all. The vet did not prescribe any storm-anxiety medication for Zeon yet. She said to wait and see what he is like in a storm. The forecast is calling for thunderstorms the middle of this week so we'll see how he does. The two are very well behaved riding in the car. We don't have to put them in crates, which is good because we have a small car.

They still have not had any accidents in the home and have not chewed anything up or gone through the trash. We have been able to keep our bathroom and laundry trash cans on the floor with no problem. They love it when we have company and never beg for food. We don't have a yard but we went to my husband's parent's house and they enjoyed playing fetch for a long time.

We have a balcony and they enjoy sun-bathing out there for a little bit and then come in and cool down on the concrete floors. They sleep through the night and wake up when we do. I see why people live longer that have pets. They truly love you unconditionally and are always happy to see you and easy to please.

Natasha and Zeon arrived at our Loft a few days ago and enjoy living downtown. My husband and I see why RAGOM loses a number of foster parents to adoption. These two are our first foster doggies and they are amazing! They're siblings and have been together for 8 years. Zeon is a boy and Natasha is a girl. Natasha is spayed and Zeon is neutered. They lived in the suburbs before and have adjusted to urban living. They like the elevator rides and the other dogs in the building.

Natasha is the outgoing one and Zeon is the mellow one. They enjoy walks and playing fetch with a tennis ball. They love being brushed and chewing on rawhide. They are great around small kids. We took them to play with our niece and nephew and they were both very gentle. They are definitely not runners but they enjoy leisurely walks. We love to run so we take them for a walk first and then run later, which ends up working better because then we don't have to stop on our jogging trips for pooper scooper duty.

Zeon has storm anxiety. Natasha has a habit of not letting Zeon get attention. If Zeon is getting petted she has to get petted and Zeon cannot walk in front of her when they are on walks. She has to be the leader. They do not beg for food, bark or growl. Natasha did bark at another Golden Retriever in the building but I think she was just saying hello.

They both have a vet appointment on May 3rd so another update will be provided after they get checked. Their prior owners took very good care of them. Natasha could shed some weight. Zeon looks really good weight wise. They are both adorable.
