Nemo 04-147

Profile

Nemo and his friend Dori 04-148 were found on the side of the road in eastern Minnesota. They had been left by their owners and given a cardboard box and a little dog food. People in the area found them and two good Samaritans took them into their home (along with their 3 dogs) and kept them safe and called RAGOM. The vet believes Nemo to be about 8 to 9 months old and he probably lived outside in a shed, which would explain why he presently has a thick winter coat and is timid.

Anne and Chuck A met Nemo and fell in love. He will be neutered and have the entropian eye surgery done on Thursday and be able to go to his new home on Saturday.

While at the good Samaritans' home for the last two weeks, Nemo had only two bathroom accidents, was given free run of the house when they were home, slept in their bed at night (I did say they were good Samaritans) and has started to come out of his shell. What I have seen so far is a gentle, timid, laid-back boy with the typical Golden male love me temperament. He met all three of my dogs with no problem and is comfortable in our backyard. He did need a little encouragement to come into the house (lift up the backend), but follows me around from room to room (typical Golden). There is a thunderstorm going on while I am typing and he is asleep at my feet, so I think it is safe to say that he doesn't suffer from storm anxiety.

My first impression is that Nemo will do best in a gentle, loving adult home, another dog would be a plus, a fenced in yard a must (not invisible fencing) with patient people who would enjoy watching this boy blossom as he develops trust and becomes more comfortable. Would you like to help him enjoy the Golden life? You will be rewarded many times over.
