Tucker is a 25 pound, housebroken, 9 year old male "golden mix" :). While he may not look like a golden he truly has the lovable traits we all adore. He has been with us since Friday and we think he is some kind of Springer Spaniel mix. Tucker was hit by a car and his current owner was unable to pay his medical bills so he was surrendered back to RAGOM. The accident left him with some pretty bad bruises and he needed to have surgery on his hip. He will need to sport the fashionable sling (shown below) for the next three weeks or so but is expected to fully recover.

Although it has been a rough week for this little guy he can't seem to stop wagging his tail. He was understandably anxious when I picked him up from the animal hospital, but has since begun to show his true personality. Don't let his age fool you! Even with the sling and what I can only assume is horrible pain, this guy has love and energy to spare. He LOVES to snuggle and relax by his humans. He seems to be really interested in playing with his toys and in the snow, but the sling has put a damper on that for now. Hopefully soon he will be able to get back to his normal routine with a new forever home.
After an initial nervous reaction to our resident golden, Tucker appears to get along well with other dogs. It is unknown how Tucker does with children and cats, but his SO reported that he ignored her young grandchild. The animal hospital had a couple resident cats that did not seem to bother him, so my guess is that he would ignore them as well.
Tucker would be a welcome addition to a relaxed household that can help him regain his strength and share his happy "golden" outlook on life. More to come as I get to know this guy better.
