1/25/07: This is Sacha. All I can tell you about Sacha's history is that she was used for breeding. That's it. She lived in a outdoor kennel for seven years, with sawdust for bedding.

But her future looks much brighter. She came to us on Sunday, and she has not had any accidents in the house! She is gated in the mud room during the night and during the day while we are gone to work, and she does great. She loves attention.

Sacha was so funny the first couple of days. She liked it in the house so much we couldn't get her to go out. I had to put a leash on her and coax her out. Now she goes out willingly, knowing she can come back in. She is spayed and up to date on shots. She is very inquisitive about the cats. She will chase our "I hate dogs" cat, only because she runs from her. But our "this is my house and I isn't budging" cat, she just stares at. She gets along pretty good with Lew (resident dog). She does play a little with a ball.

We have some work yet with the Gentle Leader. But she does pretty well for a dog never on a leash. And we are working on some commands. She has the cutest face. I think she would make someone a great pet. She doesn't demand much, just someone to love and care for her. She has shown some food aggression with Lew, so we feed them separate, but no aggression toward us.

I will keep you updated on this pretty girl.

What a difference a week makes. This girl has just done great. She is sitting on command. When she gets excited she has a tendency to jump up, but she is learning that sitting will get her lots of hugs and petting. And what a clown. We were going to go for a walk and I put my mitten down to hook up her and Lew on leashes, and she stole my mitten. Good thing I had hot dog bites in my pocket, cause she was not going to give it up. When I bend over to tie my boots she sticks her head in between my legs from behind and I get a kiss in the face. She is playing much more with Lew. But her favorite thing to play with is the cat. She even lets the cat rub up against her now. And she has taken to Lewie's stuffed toys. Actually she hoardes them. Gathers them all up and lays on them. So I think I am going to get her some of her own. She really needs to do doggie situps. She has a little loose skin from having all those babies. But don't we all! I will be having my grandsons (6 and 3) this weekend so we will see how she is with kids.
