Monty 06-007

Profile

1/8/06: I picked up Monty from another volunteer yesterday and he is such a great puppy! I brought him to my office today to keep me company. He?s taking a nap on my couch. My husband and I enjoy this little guy so much we want to keep him but RAGOM loses so many of its foster parents to adoption. If he doesn?t go fast we might change our minds.

He had his first set of shots before he left Iowa (thanks for transporting Connie V!). He is such a little bundle of joy. He is very playful and likes to cuddle. He only woke up three times last night and has had only one little accident in the loft. That was mostly my fault because I wanted to play ball with him after he woke up instead of taking him out right away. We?re dog-sitting Reuben and he is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever that lives in our building. Monty learned how to walk nicely on a leash this morning by watching Reuben. Monty likes to cuddle next to Reuben and play with his own tail and Reuben?s tail. Monty also likes to chew the tassels on rugs and the corners of his potty training papers. He didn?t like the crate at all so we?re going to have to work on that with him.

Monty just woke up so we?re off to the dog park now. More updates will be on the way.

Volunteers of RAGOM-

Angie, Satoshi (Toshi) and I would like to thank you so much for your hard work! He has been in our home for just about 24 hours, but he has had an immediate impact on our house. The cats are intrigued, too! Toshi will be a part of our family for a long time to come.

We really appreciate your hard work in getting this done, and getting it done well.

All the best,

Angie and Peter

Monty is such a treat to foster. He loves to play with string. He is continuing to do very well with potty training. We live in a condo in downtown so we are paper training on our balcony. He is very good about going to the door when he needs to go. Yesterday he didn’t quite hold it so he went but I have a potty paper inside as well so he really didn’t have an accident. Monty is getting accustomed to the elevators and is learning not to jump over the elevator track. Monty enjoys playing in the snow but only for a short time because he gets cold pretty fast. I might need to get him a little sweater.

He likes to try to eat Reuben’s food but when we put him back by his own food he is fine. Reuben is so submissive that he just backs away from his dish. I miss Monty when I’m at work but I know my husband is home with him. We know that the family who adopts him will be very fortunate to have such a great addition. If we were in a house, we would adopt him in a heartbeat.
