Rocco 05-389

Profile

11/13/05: Hi Everyone,

Rocco made it safe an sound to Alexandria, thanks to Nancy. Rocco is a 1 year old Golden who is all energy. He puts the Energizer Bunny to shame! He has been with us for about a day and a half and is starting to settle into our family. He is a very lovey boy, and he likes to play with our female Lab. He likes to be outside and will try to chase the rabbits or squirrels. A lot of love went into this dog.

Rocco came from a family going through a tough time. They knew it was best for him to find a new home and called RAGOM. The home he came from had young children and I know he misses them dearly! He has been snuggling up to our two kids, ages 10 and 14. They just love it. Rocco is house and crate trained, and pulls on the lead. He is a smart guy and I know he will learn quickly. He is going to the vet on Monday and we will have him in to get neutered later this week. We will give you more of an update as we get to know this kid!

Well, Rocco has had a good week. He has recovered from his neuter and so we took him to grandma's house for Thanksgiving. He rode well in the car, sleeping most of the 2 and 1/2 hours. He has now setteled into our family and loves to snuggle. One thing we have noticed about him, is that rather then sniff you, when he first meets; he licks you. My family loved that. He has been around children as young as 2 and did well. He still has lots of energy and loves to play fetch. We are still working on a few commands and he still pulls with the lead. He loves to be with people. Rocco does bark at other dogs, but it is more of an invitation to come and play...nothing mean. I do not think this kid has a mean bone in his body.
