Molly 06-118

Profile

3/27/06: Molly and Sophie arrived at their new foster home on Saturday. They have been very sweet, but right now they are very much Velcro girls. I'm hoping that as soon as they feel comfortable here that they will feel safe enough not to need to be in my lap everytime I sit down.

Molly and Sophie are 7yr old PB Goldens and have been together their whole lives. Molly is a little smaller and weighs about 55 pounds and Sophie weighs about 60 pounds. They are a medium Golden color and Sophie has a beautiful white face. Molly has white on her face also, but not as much.

They are both very playful and love to play with our Bosco. Molly loves to play fetch. She gives Rusty a run for his money when we are throwing tennis balls. Molly is definitely the more dominate of the two and she tries to boss her sister around.

If you are looking for well behaved Goldens who are beyond the puppy "wild child" stage, these could be the girls for you. I will send another update after their trip to the vet.

Good Golly Miss Molly has been a very entertaining girl! I'm attaching a picture that shows her watching TV. She is very drawn to anything with an animal in it. She especially loves the one commercial with the puppies at camp singing "There ain't no bugs on me!" She is also interested in some food commercials. Molly is also great at making sure that we don't oversleep for work! The instant that alarm goes off, she is right there to make sure that we get up! If I should ignore her, she will wash my face and then snuggle down next to me for awhile, but only a little while. Kind of like hitting the snooze button on your alarm. If any of you that are looking to adopt a Golden have trouble getting up in the morning, Molly could be the perfect girl for you! No more being late for work or school! How about that?

Molly and Sophie went to the vet yesterday. They are both UTD on their shots and HW negative. Sophie has an ear infection in both ears, but we are treating it and she will be fine. Molly's official weight at the vet was 61.9 poungs and Sophie's weight was 73.8 pounds. Both of the girls have been spayed previously and they have no health issues.

The girls have a little storm anxiety and jumped in bed with me during a thunderstorm. Last night I gave them "Rescue Remedy" before bedtime because we were supposed to have more storms. They both did fine last night with the storms.

Molly and Sophie are adjusting to being here and no longer need to be close to me all of the time. The girls each play wonderfully with my resident dogs. Molly has a tendency to be a little bossy, but we don't let it get out of hand. Sophie especially loves to play with Bosco. These girls have a lot of energy for 7 year olds. I was expecting them to be less active since they are older, so I guess that I have learned something about older Goldens!

Molly and Sophie are ready to go to their forever home. I feel that they would do fine being adopted separately or together. Please contact Placementatragom [dot] org if you are interested in either of these wonderful girls.
