Jacee 06-376

Profile

8/22/06: After a long 5 hour ride for 6 dogs and a ten hour ride for my daughter and me, we are happy to announce the arrival of 4 little 8 week old puppies to Apple Valley!

Jacee is a wonderful little Golden Retriever/Shepherd girl that was found in a box alongside a road in Iowa. Thanks to a Good Samaritan that brought them to Animal Control and subsequently contacted RAGOM, we now have them and they are looking for a home to call their own.

There are 2 males and 2 females. All the pups are vaccinated, dewormed, and Frontlined. As you can imagine, we don?t know a whole lot about Jacee, but in the next few days I will be sure to update daily on her activities.

If you are interested in this little girl, please email placementatragom [dot] org so we can get her home to you quickly!

Mistee Bubbles the Newf here. Hey, I just wanted to tell you how cool my little foster brother and sisters are. I was really sick the other day and these two never bothered me once. They knew I needed time in the crate that they love to sleep in. They shared really nicely with me.

Yep, it was pretty funny. I love my crate, but I share with them during the day, and at night they sleep in it with the door closed. Because I did not feel well I was sleeping in it during the day with the door open, of course, and Jacee and Jeeper felt they needed to comfort me so they came in to sleep too. Now that was so nice. I don’t think they were happy with me when I threw up on them, but mom just washed them and everything was fine.

Now that I feel better I get to play again with my foster brother and sister. You would not be sorry to meet them--they really are nice. They love to play fetch; they are horrible at giving things back. I usually have to chase them around to get the ball for mom, and so they sleep pretty darn well. At least they don’t wake me up at night. Oh yeah, they get in trouble because they LOVE shoes. Just thought I would warn you about that.

I know they may not look like a Golden, but they sure act nice and kind. Both are really shy, so you have to give them a chance to warm up to you. But once you get home, get ready--you will have a lot of fun.

Oh, but let's be honest. My mom is having a little bit of a time getting them to potty outside consistently. They are doing better, and the last couple of days each have gone to the door on their own to potty a couple of times, so I think it is coming along. But who am I to say? I am just a dog.

I had mom take a couple of sleeping pictures for you so you can see just how sweet they are when sleeping!

See you soon, I know you want to meet them--and me, of course! Please contact placementatragom [dot] com so you can possibly be their new mom and dad!

Thanks for listening – Mistee Bubbles the Newf.

Jeeper and Jacee sleeping

Jacee here....guess what! Jeeper is going to stay with me until we are adopted by a wonderful family. I am so excited that my sleeping buddy will stay for a while longer. That does not mean we want to be adopted together, because we don’t. We just want to stay together until we find families of our own.

I am still very excited about getting my own family though. Do you think you have it in your heart to maybe adopt a Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix? I act just like a loving dog, no problems with nipping and biting here. I just want to stay close and have lots of fun with the humans or my brother when he is not sleeping.

I really would like a home to call my own, and I bet you would be very happy with me once you meet me! Come on, give a girl a chance. Please send an email to PlacementatRagom [dot] org and let them know you want to meet me. I promise I will keep working diligently on my potty training, if you say you will meet me!

Jacee is off the computer.

Jacee continues to thrive with her brother and sister. It really is time to split them all up though. Jacee loves to be cuddled and will follow you around and plop wherever you are going to be stationed for a few minutes. When she falls asleep she will stay put until she is done napping.

Jacee still goes on the paper if I am not quick enough to get to the door to let her out. Add the storms we had all day yesterday and last night, and we took two steps back in the potty training. Now they think it is okay to go in the pen on the paper. Bummer, we were getting so far, but because of all the lightening, thunder, hail (yes, say it with me, golf ball to baseball size) and rain, I could not get them outside enough.

Jacee is not a biter, she will however jump up on your leg to get you to pick her up and she is very content to hang out there for a while. She sleeps like a champ with her brother and sister. I am sure this will change when alone though.

So what do you say? Are you willing to give a girl a chance? Jacee will make all your puppy dreams come true! Please email placementatragom [dot] org to meet with Jacee or Jeeper!

What a wonderful little girl Jacee is. She weighs the most of the four Iowa pups – we weighed 10.6 pounds. She loves to be held and cuddled.

Jacee slept like a champ last night – the three went into Mistee’s wire crate and slept from 9:30 to 3 and then from 3:30 to 6. They are NOT potty trained and we are starting to work on that, but it is much harder when you have three puppies vs one.

I did notice that Jacee must have the start of paper training because she will go into the play pen and potty on the paper vs on the hay. So we brought some paper outside to the hay pile to see if that will help her with the transition. Jacee will also come and seek you out to lay by you, where her brother and sister will nap wherever they fall.

Jacee went to the vet yesterday; she has had one set of shots and will be ready for the second set next week. She was also Frontlined again. It looks like all the pups had fleas awhile ago since they have the flea scabs. Jacee also has a slight case of kennel cough so she is on Clavamox, but is doing exceptionally well and is ready for a home of her own.

Jacee is not a real biter, so that is a total change for us. If you would like to meet this little bundle, please email placementatragom [dot] org so we can arrange a meet and greet date!
