Carly 04-381

Profile

This beautiful senior girl is Carly, and I simply cannot say how sweet she is. Carly joined us on December 4. She comes to us as a well loved 57 lb, 10 year old girl from a very loving family, who have made the hard decision to find Carly a new home due to her severe separation anxiety from her mom. In addition to the separation anxiety, Carly suffers from several allergies, including cedar, which causes her to scratch and lick her tummy until it's sore. She takes 3 pills a day and has spray for her tummy when it gets sore.

Carly has adjusted pretty well to her new home. She gets along great with our 3 year old dog, but for now likes to find a quiet corner away from the kids (and a friendly grown-up to scratch her ears!). We'll take her to the vet this week for a full senior girl workup.

Hi Linda,

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know how I'm doing. I turned 12 years old earlier this month. I'm on vacation right now with my family on Lake Superior. I love walks on the beach and playing in the big lake. Healthwise I'm doing well. I'm still getting allergy shots. This time of year I still itch and scratch a lot. But my family is trying real hard to keep me comfortable. The food is good here, I've been eating well and pooping just as good. I still wake my dad up at 5:30 am to go potty but not every morning. Say hello to Red, Skylar and Molly for me. I hope I can come and visit you sometime this summer. Maybe on a really hot day so we can have a pool party. Well on with the photos....these were taken this weekend at the lake. --Carly

Here are some pictures of Carly. The last one with the family we took while on vacation last week on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

We all enjoyed your visit today.

Carly finally agreed to pose for a picture that shows how wonderful her coat and her tummy are now looking. She still refuses to give me a big grin while the camera is pointed in her direction, but I am hopeful that will come eventually. She has the cutest grin. Carly continues to do well. She is an absolute joy to have around.

The second of the new pictures shows Carly teaching Sam 05-01-152 the proper position to assume when begging for treats. Carly was impressed by how quickly Sam caught on to the proper technique!

Well, we are starting to see a whole new side to Carly! This mellow, easy-going gal is having the best time playing with the 4 month old puppy we are fostering. This morning she actually initiated play - it was adorable!! Carly has been taking some vitamins which have helped her skin condition so much - this week she was able to go a whole week between baths! YIPEE!! Just one meeting with this sweet gal and your heart will melt!

Carly has now been with us for one month, and is just as sweet as the day she came. There isn't anything new to report, other than to say she's still anxiously awaiting a new forever home, despite how much she loves us! She's still taking 3 meds a day, plus vitamins to help her itchy skin. With 2 baths a week and some yummy-smelling essential oils, we are able to keep her itching & scratching to a bare minum, with very little effort.

Carly is looking for a forever home with a mom or dad who doesn't have to leave her alone to go to work every day. Other than that, her only wishes are love, attention, love, friends, love....(you get it!). Give this wonderful, beautiful girl a chance!!
