11/20/06: Griffee was the Eighth of the Boo Bears to be born – Griffee’s parents were from a puppy mill and so he is a pure breed Golden Retriever. Rowdee came into this world at 1:54 am on October 25th, 2006 and will be ready for adoption on December 18th, 2006. Griffee will be 4 weeks on 11/23/06.

Griffee came into this world weighing in at .8 pound, at 2 weeks of age he weighed 2.12 pounds and the smallest of the pups, even today he is TINY compared to everyone else. I believe he will weigh close to 2.5 pounds when we go to the vet later this week. Griffee has had his de-worming and will do another dose this week and in two weeks will get his first set of puppy shots!

Griffee is the cuddliest of all pups – his Aunty Kelly another Ragom volunteer, comes to cuddle him and very rarely will put him down. Griffee just loves the attention he is given. He is the most beautiful color and his personality by far is so down to earth and what happens, happens attitude. Okay so I am also a sucker for the runts, well he is that but a few of the other pups are not far ahead of him, he just happens to be the cuddliest. Griffee is lagging behind and is the runt of the litter. Yesterday he went to the vet and we found out he had a major case of roundworms – I hate roundworms, they are these nasty long worms that are really gross and hard on the pups' insides. So the good news is everyone, including Mom and Newfoundlands, are being treated and everyone should be on the path of better weight gain.

I was really hoping Griffee would be bigger. He actually surpassed my 2.5 pounds by a pound but the vet thought he was still way too small at 3.6 pounds. He looks tiny compared to everyone else. His worms are perhaps the worst and that is why he did not make it to 4 pounds this trip. Griffee can definitely hold his own - he loves to play with stuffed animals and play with little tiny tennis balls. We are hoping to bring everyone outside again today to play for just a little bit. Last time we did this they were all pretty scared. I know you would love to meet this little peanut. He loves to be cuddled and loved and just wants to be near you.
