Profile

Tika has joined our family and is a delightful 9 1/2 year old spayed female. Tika's former owners did not have the time to devote to her care. She is unbelievably active for her age. The vet called her "fit and healthy". Tika will need to have a lump removed next week, but we are expecting a good result. She is totally housetrained and willing to be crated if needed (I crated her one night!). She enjoys going for walks and we are expecting a recruitment call from scout Tom Kelly any day! She loves to play ball and is very good at it! Look for her in the outfield! In this cold Northern Minnesota weather she plays catch in our basement. She also talks! Well, dog talk....and I am trying to learn her language. Tika has some allergies and we have started her on Eukanuba Veterinary Diet with the hope of bringing her allergies under better control. Tika may be best as an only dog. She is very possessive of her toys and food and will not share! Other then her toy and food issue she gets along well with our two older dogs. We have not "kid tested" her as of yet but she will come with us for a family Christmas and be tested by teens to toddlers. She has a successful past history with children.

Just had to show off our pretty girl...! Tika loves the snow! Rolling in it, playing in it, and a great game of snow tennis ball fetch. More snow expected this week in the north woods...makes for a happy pup! I am available to make snow angels at your house....just e-mail placementatragom [dot] org and ask for Tika!
