Please welcome back Eli to the Ragom family. Eli is a wonderful 7 year old male who is full of energy (don't let that white face fool you!). I would have guessed he is 3 or 4 based on his activity level. He is tall and weighs 68 pounds with a little white on his chest also. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his immunizations. He went to the vet today - received a clean bill of health and was heartworm negative. He walks very nicely with a regular leash and collar - doesn't pull at all. He comes when called and knows a few commands. He eats well and will do anything for a treat! He is housebroken and does well in the house. He's real happy to see us when we get home from work but is not a velcro dog. He gets along great with our 3 resident goldens (2 females and 1 male). He has met about a dozen of our neighborhood dogs on walks and is very appropriate. He is very curious about our old cat and has barked at and sniffed her many times - but has shown no signs of wanting to chase her or harm her.
Eli was surrendered back into Ragom because he had growled and air snapped at a toddler who was crawling on him. His family of 5 years was uncomfortable with this behavior. He has not been around children in the week that we have had him.
He's a noisy guy: whimpers when he wants to come in to the house, barks when he gets excited about anything, has growled a couple of times. He has settled into our house and routine very easily and we have had no behavior problems with him whatsoever. He loves to be outside and is content to just relax on the floor or chew on bones. He's also picked up some of the doggie toys laying around. He has not bothered any people stuff.
We think he's a GREAT dog and would be a wonderful addition to any family. He loves to run and used to running alongside his former owner as he rollerbladed or biked. Almost forgot to mention that he is gorgeous with thick, dark red, curly fur! The transporter said Eli was the best dog he had ever transported!
Please contact your placement advisor if you are interested in Eli.
