Raider 06-260

Profile

6/13/06: Raider is a petite, very handsome 9-month old purebred Golden Retriever. He was surrendered because his family didn?t have the time to give him the attention he deserves and felt that someone else could provide a better life for him. He met my four dogs and was told off by one of them. He listened very well, tucked tail and backed off. He has shown absolutely no aggression. He?s a darling little guy and I?ll be surprised if he weighs even 50 pounds as I could pick him right up and put him in the kennel in my car, yet at 9 months, he should be full grown. He is a bit on the thin side and could afford to gain 5 pounds or so. He will be visiting the vet to get up-to-date on shots and neutered and will be ready to meet some lucky family soon. He will need someone that does have time to take him to obedience training and help him to learn what fun life can be as a Golden Retriever. He?s a very friendly boy that likes to give kisses, and is learning quickly that sitting vs. jumping gets him treats. He?s also been introduced to the Gentle Leader and while not yet crazy about it, does respond well with it on. He probably wouldn?t do well with a family with very young children until he learns a little something. Great temperament, just needs a little training and attention. More to come as we get to know him better.

This will be my second and last update for Raider. He went to a wonderful home tonight. Raider is a bundle of energy that kept Aster, the resident Golden and foster mom hopping. He was well on his way to being housebroken, sitting on command, coming when called and an all around well rounded puppy. It seems very quiet without him. The short time he was here Raider came so far without any sign of aggression. We did catch a few pictures in the woods. Good luck Raider, we will miss you.
