Status: Deceased
I adopted Betsy 10/8/2005 and it was just about the best day of my life.
She’s been with me ever since and was thought to be about 2 years old at that time. As of this date, she would now be about 15 or 16 and has been a loved, well-cared for fur baby.
Tomorrow, I will be taking her to be euthanized due to back leg problems causing her to fall. It will be a very difficult day but I wanted RAGOM to know that this is one fur baby that has had her forever home and has had the best life possible.
Please post this if it will help others to realize what a lifetime friend these dogs are.
My tears will continue but I know she’ll cross that rainbow bridge and bring her smile and gentle ways with her.
Thank you.

These are my puppy helpers. They come by every evening and play with the puppies :)
Betsy is a very sweet, approximately 3 year old female who is taking good care of her almost 4 week old puppies. Betsy is very thin at 42#. She should probably be about 50#. She is very loving and absolutely loves to be with kids and adults. She is gentle, does not jump. Will try to counter surf, but a firm "wrong" and she is down. She knows sit and is learning to come when called. Betsy is up to date on shots except her rabies (she was too underweight). She is heartworm negative. I can't say enough good things about this sweet, gentle, laid back girl.
Betsy is doing well and taking wonderful care of her pups. She likes to spend time away from them now and follow you around the house, and comes to you for lots of attention. The rash on her tummy is going away - not much redness anymore. Betsy's eating has slowed down and she's not acting like she's starving anymore. I give her non-fat plain yogurt on her food and she really enjoys that a lot.
She loves going for walks and doesn't pull unless she sees a squirrel. Betsy would be a great dog for children, and doesn't need to be with another dog. I think she'd be happier being an only child and getting lots of attention. She's great with cats but if you have birds in cages, they need to be up high, as she's very interested in them.
When she is done caring for her pups, think about giving this sweet loveable little girl the wonderful home that she's looking for.
Betsy is doing really well and the rash on her tummy is going away. She is so petite that she needs to eat a lot - 4 times a day - because the puppies are always eating! Betsy will follow me around the house when I let her out of her blocked area and is always wanting to be petted. She does not get up on the furniture :) I don't think she ever been in a house until she came to stay with me. Betsy has excellent house manners!
