Parker 06-248

Profile

6/7/06: Parker is 9 years old - looks 11 and acts 4 or 5. He's absolutely well discipined and has or has learned very quickly some obedience skills such as sit, wait, come, no, etc. He is easy to walk on a leash and lots of fun.

Parker is a past beauty - great confirmation and head - lovely light honey color, but has serious skin allergies that are not yet under control - he may need a change in medicine. He has loss of hair and an uneven hair cut, I assume to remove tangles. Parker's previous owners gave him up as they could not afford to take care of the expenses caused by his allergies.

Parker is being groomed this Friday and will be even more handsome after that.

Parker is very lovable and fun. He has shown no agression (every once in a while a tussle between Parker and Marty, but hard to tell who started it and no one gets hurt). He is totally responsive when called and just a happy dog.

Will update you after the vet visit.

Parker just enjoyed a week of playing with the grandkids ages 5 and 8.

Parker's allergies seem to be under control. His coat is growing back in - slowly - and the itching seems to be all but gone. I had a couple lumps checked and one tested benign and the other was unusual but had a lot of fluid which is inconsistent with a cancerous growth.

Parker continues to be a happy, faithful dog and stays very close at all times. He will be a great companion for his next human friends.

Parker has had his medical check-up and been diagnosed as having hypothyroidism and extreme skin allergies. He is currently being treated for both.

Today he had a spa day and came home feeling quite handsome and happy. Parker will need a home where his human friends are willing to give ongoing care to insure that he stays happy and healthy. Parker lost a lot of hair due to his allergies and hair cut to remove matting, and arrived at my house with large scabs on his back and a lot of hairless areas. These are healing and we just hope they continue to heal and no more lesions appear on his skin.

Parker is a happy, energetic puppy and acts more like a 4 year old than a 9 year old. His struggle with allergies and their effects make him look older than his years. His recovery will probably include a healthier look.

Parker gets along with all the animals he has come in contact with - our dog, our other foster dog, all of the dogs at the grooming spa, and our cat. He was the delight of the grooming spa today and has a personality and spirit that is totally appealing. He is good on walks and does not lunge at animals, people or objects. There are no issues about defending toys or food. Parker is wonderful!
