Chandler - now Sherman is doing great! He is 2 weeks into puppy school, and the star of the class. Our instructor always uses him to demonstrate new practices because we have worked with him so much. He has even learned some of my old German commands from shutzhund; sitz-sit (that's an easy one), platz-down, and fuss-heal. He loves to train and we walk him on a state trail here in Forest Lake that he really likes. He is hovering around 40 lbs., give or take, and the vet says his size is perfect. My dad just needed emergency surgery to remove 8" of intestine, and we brought Sherman over to cheer him up and since he knows the command "touch", we just put him in a sit-stay on my dad's left and he touched him on his knee and sat there for quite awhile. I know it perked my dad up and Sherman didn't mind the attention...he never does!

Chandler is one of our Katrina pups. His Golden Retriever mix mom was found walking the streets of New Orleans after the hurricane, very pregnant and in need of a warm place to whelp her pups. Chandler is a quieter, stately looking, young boy. When he sees you, he comes running up to meet you. A nice friendly guy, who loves to be petted and played with, but will also go lie down quietly on his doggy bed and enjoy some alone time too. He would love to meet your whole family, getting along well with people of all ages and all animals. He is presently in the puppy mouthing stage and with a little yelping on my part, he’s learning that mouthing me does not get him the wanted attention. Not mouthing me, gets him lots of pets. We are presently fostering both Chandler and Bo (different litters) and it is so fun to watch them run, play and chase each other in the snow and then come in the house for a much needed rest. Chandler will be a big boy when he grows up. My husband keeps saying, “someone is going to get a really nice dog.” Are you going to be the lucky family?

Hello again!

All pups are happy, healthy and developing wonderfully! Once their eyes opened, their development blossomed beautifully - they're playful, energetic, and lots and lots of fun!
